'spill every single detail, vic! i need to know!!' el said as we laid on her bed reading magazines

it was mid day, and we had just ordered pizzas for lunch that would come in about twenty minutes

the window to her room was open, and magazines, nail polish, and makeup was all sprawled out on her bed and floor

i put the magazine i was reading down and looked at el,'it really wasn't that interesting, e; he drove us out to some random field, we had lunch, yada yada yada he told me how much i meant to him, and then he drove me back home! it really wasn't anything, so you shouldn't-'

she quickly interrupted me,'he tOLD YOU HOW MUCH YOU MEANT TO HIM?!?!??!' she screamed

'yeah, it wasn't that big of a deal,' i answered her simply,'what color should i paint my nails, red or-'

'victoria! well what did you answer?!' she said, very excited to hear all about my little 'date' with richie

'i just said thanks, he means something to me, you know he'll always have a special place in my heart, but i don't know... it's complicated, el'

she laughed,'oh my god! he's head over heels for you!'

i laughed with her and rolled my eyes playfully,'can we please change the subject, now? i've told you everything you wanted to know' i asked her

'alrighttttt' she said and chuckled again

'should i paint my nails red-' i asked her, while searching for another color

'-or yellow?' as i waited for her response I found another color

'ooh what about baby pink?!'

she thought for a second,'hmm, what's richie's favourite color?' she asked

'i'm pretty sure it's red,' i answered

'alrighty! then paint those nails red and show 'em to your lover boy!' she smiled at me

i laughed,'first of all, he's not my lover boy; and second of all, yellow it is!'

she smirked at me and then continued to search through her magazine for something she liked

'i don't think i've ever been so bored in my entire life!' el groaned

'you're not the only one! it's been hours since we've talked about anything remotely interesting!' i yawned with her

'let's go out and do something fun!' she excitedly said

'yeah? like what? what's fun at 4 pm on a scorching hot summer day in derry?' i asked sarcastically

she thought for a moment before her face lit up,'let's go down to the barrens and swim!'

'yeah, that sounds fun! here, you can borrow one of my swimsuits and then lets go!' i said as i tossed her a random blue one piece out of my closet while grabbing another red bikini for myself

after we got changed, we grabbed some towels and headed down to the barrens in my car

'jesus fuck it's hot!' el said as we got out of my car at the barrens

'at least we're alone, and there's no one here' i said to her, looking at the empty water

she nodded as we dropped our towels on a rock

el jumped in first and after she jumped in i could hear the faint sound of a car driving up on the gravel

i ignored it at first, but when the person inside got out i turned around to see who it was

'well, well, well; what's a girl like miss harrington doing at the barrens all by herself? hopefully not waiting for another boy?' he said as he walked closer to me

'el is here too, rich. she just already jumped down; and what brings you here?' i asked richie as he came over to me, dropping his shirt and towel on the rock next to ours

'a little birdie told me you'd be here' he said with a wink

oh el, of course she couldn't have a good idea on her own

it was probably richie's

i smiled at him as he got closer and closer to me

'nice to see you, vic' he said with a smile as he went in for a hug

now, remember that i was standing on the edge of the cliff, so naturally as richie went in for a hug i was very very careful about where i was standing

'heyyy, no hug? i thought we were friends?' he said as it was obvious i didn't want to hug him, well that's what he probably thought

i just didn't want to fall off the cliff

i raised my eyebrows at him,'friends?'

he smirked and gave me a wink as he leaned in for a kiss, and i was shocked

i had no idea what to do, so i wrapped my arms around him and pushed us both in

it ended up with a huge splash and we were both laughing

el seemed happy with herself as she could see her and richie's plan worked, kind of

everything went quiet for a second as me and richie locked eyes

everything around us seemed to disappear as he leaned in

we kissed for a second before i dragged him under the water with me

as we came up, richie muttered the words under his breath so only us two could hear it,
