Hiding is harder than I thought

Ahhh! Sorry this is so late out! Ahh! Honestly I forgot.. its 22:30 here so haahahha.. sorry!

Shuichi kept walking, dragging Kokichi along behind him. Shuichi subconsciously quickened his pace which made Kokichi trip over and fall onto Shuichi, gripping onto his shoulder for support.

Suddenly, a familiar voice called out to them. "Hey Shuichi! Kokichi." Kaito stormed towards them, running at full pace. 

Shuichi started at him, he had no idea how someone could possibly have that much energy built up inside them. "Ah.. Kaito." Shuichi's realised that his tone seemed somewhat defeated.

Kaito stopped in front of the pair and raised an eyebrow at their situation. He simply saw Kokichi hanging onto Shuichi's shoulder desperately and Shuichi not even reacting. "Are you okay Kokichi? You're hanging onto Shuichi pretty hard."

Kokichi instantly let go of Shuichi's shoulder and managed to stand up on his own. "Yeah, I'm fine.. I fell for.. I mean onto Shuichi and I had to grab onto his shoulder to stop myself from falling onto the ground." Kokichi explained, a neutral expression on his face. "There's nothing weird about this! Nothing at all."

Kaito looked the pair of them, it was obvious that something was going on between them. He crossed his arms and stood up taller in a sort of interrogation type way. "So, you're telling me.. that you just fell for Shuichi?"

"Yes." Kokichi answered without hearing Kaito's true wording. "I mean no, I misheard you! You need to be clearer with what you're saying. I didn't fall for him, I fell onto him."

Kaito huffed to himself. "Is this right Shuichi?"

Shuichi turned to him. He wasn't excited for what was to come, he knew that he was defiantly going to screw up sooner or later. It was weird. He could interigate people but he was incredibly bad at being interigated himself. He really needed to get better at it if he wanted to become a detective.. which he did. "Yes Kaito?"

"Is what Kokichi saying true?"

"Yeah, he fell onto me. We were walking and he tripped." Shuichi replied. Things were going well. He hadn't messed anything up.. yet.

Kaito thought about his next line of questioning. "Where were you walking from?"

Shuichi was slightly shocked by the question. It didn't have anything to do with why Kokichi had tripped.. but he knew that Kaito must be trying to catch him out.

"We cut across the park, we need to get to class soon." Shuichi replied again.

"Why did you cut across the park?"

"I don't really have an explanation why.. do I need to explain why we walked though a park?" Shuichi questioned, attempting to turn the tables on him.

"No. You don't need a reason. I was just curious is all." Kaito said defensively, falling straight into Shuichi's trap. "Well then.. you see anyone there?"

"We saw Maki, y'know.. your girlfriend." Kokichi interrupted, "She stopped and spoke to Shuichi about something."

Shuichi turned to Kokichi and stared at him, extremely annoyed that he had just said that. He had unintentionally stopped Shuichi from exiting the conversation and now.. he had to answer some more of Kaito's.. questioning.

"What did she say?"

"Not much.. she just said 'hi' really." Shuichi answered awkwardly.

Kaito didn't believe this for a second, "I've known Maki for a seriously long time and so have you. We both know that Maki isn't a 'hi' person. She's more of a 'I will punch you in the face' type of person." He sighed loudly, "What's really going on?"

Shuichi knew that he was cornered. He had screwed up.

He thought back to what Maki had said earlier.. "Listen Shuichi.. Kaito has been asking me about if I know something about you two and I have to keep lying to him. Please tell him, I don't know whether I am able to maintain this facade. He really cares about you."

Shuichi took a deep breath in then turned to Kokichi and subtly whispered to him, "I want to tell him about us.. partly because of Maki.. partly because he's my best friend.. but I won't unless you agree."

Kokichi remained emotionless in response for a few seconds before flashing a smile. "I've wanted to tell people about us from the start."

Shuichi took a deep breath in and turned back to Kaito. "Okay.. what's really going on is.." Kaito crossed his arms, awaiting Shuichi's explanation.

Kokichi interrupted, "Uhh! Okay! Shuichi wants to tell you that.." He kissed Shuichi on the lips, "We're dating!"

Shuichi watched Kaito's expression change from a serious one to a surprised but excited one. "Ah! I knew I was right about you two.. how long?"

Shuichi rubbed the back of his neck anxiously, "Well.. it's been around three weeks.."

Kaito smiled smugly, "How did you finally get together?"

"Oh.. Uhh.." Shuichi attempted to explain but Kokichi interrupted yet again. "We made out on Shuichi's hospital bed. I physically got on top of him and kissed him. I mean like tounge and everything." Kaito was slightly surprised by Kokichi's bluntness.

He laughed a little awkwardly, "I don't need to know like the details and everything."

"Well you asked."

"I walked into that one, didn't I?" Kaito sighed, raising his hand upto his forehead.

"Yeah..  you kind of did."
