Travis' POV:
I've been sneaking around the streets for about 3 hours and I've made about 10% progress according to the map.
The map works similarly to a gps, it keeps track of my movements and tells me how long it should take to reach my destination. At the speed I was going, it should take a 4 day, uninterupted journey, without sleep and that's not happening. I am going to take breaks.
I passed an allyway but stopped half way, I could hear the sound of crying. Usually, the orphaned children of the streets would fake cry to trick the more gullible people into giving them money. But this, was real.
Cautiously, I creeped down the ally keeping my breaths as quite as possible. I peered behind a rusted rubbish bin.
A 10 year old looking boy was crying into a bundle of rags. Leaning down infront of him, I help out a bit of clean cloth that I had for him to whipe his eyes.
"What do you want from me?" He sniffed,
"Your name and what's gotcha down." I smiled a little.
He gaspped aand he tightened his grip on the bungle as he dried his right eye.
"It's my sister, she's dying."
"Well, where is she? I'm sure I can help."
He thought for a second and then nervously held out the bundle to me. I looked inside and saw a little baby girl shivering in her sleep.
"What's her name?" I asked as I lifted her gentaly out of the boy's arm,
"I've been calling her April, cuz that's when she was born."
"But.... It's April this month."
He nodded, "She was born 11 nights ago."
"What?! She's only a week old?! If she's this sick, how could the hospital have let her leave?"
He told me that the neerest hospital that has nice people running it, is 12 miles away and his family couldn't make it in time. His mother died and his father kicked both of the into the streets in a fit of rage and greef.
"It's all gonna be ok kid." I comforted, "I'll get you and April to that hospital by tomorrow's sun set, I promise."
After a little convincing, he agreed and we started to walk.
I found out his name was Benny and he loved to joke around. Good for all three of us because the journey would be much nicer the first thought. Even though the hospital as slightly off route, what's a couple of hours doing a good deed compared to a week of a personal challange?
Katelyn's POV:
"I'm going out to the shop, can I get you anything?" Lucinda asked,
"GUMMY WORMS!!!!" I cried from the sofa as I finnished the last one from the pack.
I never eat too many sweets but I think it's ok if I eat them all in one day. Besides, they're sooo delicious!"
Lucinda's POV:
I have to ask this. Mainly: HOW DOES NO ONE ELSE NOTICE THIS WIERD BEHAVIOUR?! It's ok if we could all understand whats actually happening inside Katelyn's head but theres litterally no explaination that she's given us!
