Two weeks later
Khalid's POV
Since Normani left me to spend the night in prison which was a fucking nightmare, the food tasted like shit and my cell mate he was trying to fuck me so I had to sleep with one eye opened. Mani on the other hand has been giving me this pissy attitude she only relates to me if it has anything to do with my son see I do love my son but I ain't know how the whole parenting thing works. When his mother was around I was out most of the time trying to hussle, but things slowed up and her leaving just made the whole situation a whole lot more shitty. She's a bitch though, what kind of mother leaves her kid behind and never looks back. Mani has been more like a mother to him over these past couple of months and I am happy about that, that way he won't miss his real mom that much. I heard the door opening and I immediately dropped my feet from the table because Mani gonna catch a fit on a nigga.
" Be at the office tomorrow at 8" She says while walking right pass me with Josh in her arms
" What for?"
" I'm giving you a job you dumb fuck can you get any dumber because it seems like you get dumb by the second"
I kiss my teeth, she always gotta insult me like that because her education level is higher than mine. I had no one to encourage me to continue school, my mother practically drag me out of school so I can hussle early for her and my younger siblings. They too turned out to be crack heads. I'm really trying to hold my own
" You ain't a child Khalid so my hard earned dollars will not be thrown behind you anymore" She says while placing Josh in his crib. " You need cash you gonna have to earn it. Think ambitious for once will ya"
I groaned, I am not going to survive working at a some fancy company. Dressing in some fancy suit in for me.
" Are you even listening to what I'm saying?"
" Yes ma'am"
" Good. You better not mess this up. I'm feeling takeout tonight want us to order thai or pizza?"
" Thai is fine"
" And you better start taking up the responsibility of taking care of your child"
" I know that, thank you Mani if it weren't for you I don't know what would have happened to him"
" I will never let anything happen to Josh because his father is a hopeless dick"
