Chapter 14

Normani's POV

I sat in the waiting room with tear stained cheeks as I clutched to my stomach. The father of my babies are lying in there connected to a bunch of machines, wires and tubes. I don't know what I'll do if I lose him, his mother came in here earlier accusing me for her son's condition. She said I was just like Anika that stung me to my heart because I'm nothing like that hoe. Ally has been by my side all night reassuring me that he'll be fine but the doctors have already told me that his chances are 50-50. Just then I see a woman being wheeled in with blood stained clothing, a few bruises here and there and she was handcuffed to the chair. I immediately got out of my chair on impulse and got into her face

" You bitch are you happy now?" I growl while hitting her about the body the officer grabbed me trying to pry me off of her. " Let me go" I say kicking as he yanks me over his shoulder he was very muscular and had a good body but he ain't my type and beside I love Khalid, I think we haven't spoken about that part as yet.

" I understand your frustration ma'am but please bear with us Ms. Anika and her boyfriend Terrence will be in our custody the moment they are released but we will have them under strict police guarding"

" That ain't gonna change the fact that my man is all battered up in there. He lost a lot of fucking blood"

" Mani calm down please"

" Don't tell me to fucking calm down Allysin" Just then I hear a little boy call out mama and I see Joshua running over to me, he had a little bruise on his arm. " Baby than god you're safe" I say while kissing him all over his face with tears streaming down my own

" Don't cry mama" He wipes my tears and leans his head on my shoulder. " Where is daddy?" I froze, how was I going to tell this child that his father may not make it.

" Family of Khalid" The doctor says and Khalid's mom yanked me out of the way

" I'm the mother"

" Okay but he has been asking for a Normani the moment he woke up so-

" Listen doctor I am his mother because of her my son almost died"

" Ms. Robinson I did not pull the fucking trigger on your son so stop behaving like a damn bitch. The woman you should be snapping at like a lunatic is in that room I pointed to it. Josh your dad will be fine and I'll be back in a bit. Now would you mind holding your grandson" He stretches her arms out and collects him without a protest. I was exhausted and honestly growing tired of her blaming me for something I didn't do. I walked off in the direction of Khalid's room and found the nurse shining a light in his eyes. " May I come in?" " Mani" He smiles brightly at me. " Of course he has been asking about you the entire time" The nurse gathers her stuff and gives me a smile " You two make an awesome couple" She whispers as she leaves

" Hey baby you really scared me"

" I'm sorry" He pecks my lips repeatedly and places his hand on my tummy. " They are kicking up a storm in there" He chuckles

" They are happy that their dad is alive" I wipe a tear that falls

" Hey baby I ain't going nowhere I'm here forever" He kisses my tears away.

" I- I love you Khalid" I say looking straight into his eyes

" I love you Normani" He connects our lips and the feeling that I am having is a totally different one. I have never felt this way before with him and I was able to conclude this new bliss, it's our love. God I love this man so much I could not have imagined what I would have done if I had lost him

" Did they find Josh" He says while playing with my fingers

" Yeah he is outside with your mother and Anika and her man are in here too. They got into an accident after the police pursuit, but Josh only got a small scratch on his arm"

" Thank God. Mani I can see myself spending a long time with you. You, Josh, the babies and I are going be a family"

" I like the sound of that" I peck his lips once while laying my head on his chest listening to his rise and fall as he strokes my hair lightly. I wanna spend the rest of my life with this man.
