Chapter 12

Khalid's POV

When I got out of bed Mani wasn't there, I checked the time and it was 2am Josh has been a bit fussy all night because he had a cold so we spent most of the night well I spent most of the night at the hospital because Mani was not at home and my calls went unaswered when I tried calling her. After we got home she was asleep so obviously I was not going to disturb her, but upon hearing Josh's coughs I woke up to give him another dose of his medicine. I called out to her but got no answer eventually I heard puking and my feet took me to the bathroom where I saw her holding her hair back as she puked her insides out

" Mani are you okay?" I say while while holding her hair for her. She got up and rinsed her mouth

" I'm fine"

" Josh was at the hospital last night"

" I know I saw your note" She was about to grab the door knob when I stopped her

" Mani what is going on with you I mean I tried calling you to inform you about his illness and you never returned them"

" He ain't my child so I do not have to return any of your fucking calls" That response hit me like a ton of bricks I know he ain't got her DNA but she loved him like her own what's changing that now

" Are you serious right now?"

" Very much now excuse me so I can pass"

I step aside and watch her climb into bed and getting comfortable underneath the covers so I moved over and stoop to level at the bed

" Mani just tell me what's bothering you and I promise I'll do my best to fix it"

" Like I said I'm fine" She turns to the other side

" Mani-

" For fucks sake Khalid stop calling my name you're annoying as fuck"

" I just wanna know what's bothering you seeing you puke like that got me worried"

" We fucked raw now a baby is in the making. Happy" She pulls the covers over her head

" Did you say baby?" I removed the covers while grinning from ear to ear

" Yes why are you smiling?"

" What sorta question is that you're having my baby of course imma be happy" I say while rubbing her flat tummy

" I thought you would not have wanted to have anything to do with the baby or me"

" Why would you think such a thing?"

" I don't know Khalid I mean I don't even know what we are exactly, all we have been doing is having sex which I do enjoy by the way but I'm getting older and I just want to you know find someone who I can settle down with"

" Baby I'm sorry if I made you feel that way but I want you to know that both you and this baby means a lot to me"

" You're not saying that because I'm carrying your child right?"

" Of course not I like you a lot Mani and imma be around for a very long time" I kiss the back of her hand repeatedly " And as for you little one imma love you unconditionally one request though do not be as miserable as your mom" She swats my arm playfully

" Thank you" She says

" For what?"

" Stepping up actually I was not even sure if I ever wanted children but your reaction just changed that"

" I'm happy it did" I pecked her lips

" Cuddle with me"

" No problem" I got under the covers with her.

" Keep junior in check me because my stomach is still unsettled I do not need you to be blowing my back out"

" I hear you babe" I say while sucking on her neck deeply. I don't think I can keep my promise but I'll try cause she is looking hella delicious right now.
