Alright so Riley said something about how her and Farkle came to my apartment and wanted to talk about everything but couldn't because they kept saying "What if" Well what if they actually did come to my apartment that day.
Riley's POV:
"Here it is" Farkle says and we look up to Maya's window.
"I'm scared" I say.
"I am too but we have to do it" He says.
We walk up the stairs to her front door. Me and Farkle look at each other.
"What if Lucas is here" I say.
"What if her mom is here" He says.
"What if..." I say but am cut off by the door opening.
She had a totally normal expression on her face. Me and Farkle looked shocked.
"Damnit I was hoping you were the pizza man" She says. She must have heard us talking. "Come in" She says.
We walk into her apartment and she closes the door.
"You can sit" She says and motions to the couch. As she says that there is a knock on the door. "Oh thank god" She says and goes and answers it. It was the pizza man. She gives him twenty bucks and he gives her the pizza. "Thanks Joey" She says and he leaves.
"Your really on a first name basis with the pizza man?" Farkle asks. That was really the first thing he has said to her? I still haven't said anything.
"Yeah. I'm home alone all day I need to eat something" She says and laughs. I cracked a smile.
"What about leftovers?" He asks.
"There are never any leftovers" She says. She puts the pizza box on the table and says "Eat up"
Farkle went right in and took a slice. I was too nervous to eat. Right now we are just sitting on the couch. Me and Farkle are sitting on one side and we are facing Maya. Maya is facing us.
"You want any?" She asks me.
"No thanks" I say.
"Alright suit yourself" She says and takes a slice.
It was silent for a couple minutes. "Ok let's address the elephant in the room" I say. We need to talk about it.
"Let the elephant stay a little longer. We will get to him eventually. Just start talking like nothing ever happened" Maya says.
"How's staying home everyday?" Farkle asks.
"It's wonderful. I wish I was doing this all along" She says. "How is school that you two are obviously skipping?" She asks.
"It's fine" I say.
"It's more than fine. I love school" Farkle says.
"We know" Maya says.
We talked for a couple minutes about just random stuff, nothing about her baby or her and Lucas.
"Hey. Can I use the bathroom?" I ask.
"Yeah. You know where it is" She says.
I stand up and go into the bathroom. I didn't actually have to go. Instead I texted Farkle asking if he could leave so I could be alone with Maya. I got back a 'yeah sure' text. I left the bathroom and started walk down the hall when a room, set up for a baby caught my eye. The door was open just a crack but I could still see in. I went over to it and opened the door more, it made a little noise but I didn't care. The room was mainly pink and white. Maya's having a girl. I thought. That's exactly what I wanted. I close the door back to the way it was and go into the living room. Farkle was gone, Maya was still sitting on the couch.
"Where's Farkle?" I ask.
"I saw you texted him asking him to leave" She says.
"Ok I wouldn't play stupid" I say and sit next to her.
"You made him leave so what did you want to talk about" She asks.
"I don't know. Anything" I say. It was silence for a couple minutes. Kinda like awkward silence but it wasn't too uncomfortable "So I saw you're having a baby girl" I say.
"Yeah I am but let's not talk about that right now" She says. It was quiet again for a minute. "How is school?" She asks. "I haven't been there in a week" She says.
"Yeah I know. It's good I guess" I say. Wow we haven't talked in seven months and we have absolutely nothing to talk about.
"How's Auggie? I miss the little dude" She says.
"He's good. He misses you too. He talks about you a lot and wants to know the next time you are going to come over" I say.
"Does he really? I thought he hated me" She says.
"He just doesn't like that I used to spend every waking second with you. Now that you are gone he realizes that he actually really likes you" I say. We are now getting somewhere.
"What about your mom?" She asks.
"She's good too" I say. "How is yours?" I ask.
"Mine is good too" She says.
I want to ask so many questions about the baby and everything else like how her mom took the news and all that but I don't think she wants to.
"What has Lucas been up to these days?" You know, besides being a teenage father.
"He's good too. I don't know what else to say about him. He just spends every moment of his day with me or texting me" She says and pauses for a second. "I'm sorry about that" She says. She really didn't want to go into the Lucas conversation today.
"It's fine" I say.
"Ok enough talking about other people. They don't matter. Let's talk about us" She says. "What's going on with you and Farkle? Everyone with eyes can see there is chemistry there" She says.
"I thought we weren't talking about other people" I say.
"Your involved in this so it's about you" She says.
"Well me and Farkle aren't dating. We are just best friends" I say.
She just nods her head. I couldn't tell if she just didn't care or if she was hurt by hearing me call someone else my best friend.
"What about you and Lucas" I ask.
"Riley I don't want to hurt you more then I already have by talking about him" She says.
"It's fine. I'm over it. I've moved on" I say.
"Well we aren't dating if that is what your asking" She says.
"Ok" I say. "What are you doing tonight?" I ask.
"Sitting here and watching tv" She says.
"Want to sleepover?" I ask.
She laughs. "Riley, incase you can't tell I'm nine months pregnant and ready to pop. Any other day I would be happy to but not today. Maybe in a couple months" She says.
"Ok" I say. "I'm going to get going" I say.
"I'll see you soon" She says to me. She leans over and gives me a hug. After we both stand up.
"Bye Riley" She says.
"Bye Maya" I say and leave.
