Chapter 1: The Elite University

Jennie Kim's POV

Ugh.Fuck. I can't believe today is the day that I'll be transferring to The Elite University. I mean, I kinda feel proud to our family for making it to the list of this year's "TOP 100 RICHEST FAMILY IN SOUTH KOREA," being the #99 is a good start for us. Well, my father just recently built his own restaurant with his own recipes then suddenly everybody wants it and so more franchises were made across the country making us, I guess, rich enough to be called rich. And yes, obviously, my dad is a chief. But what I hate about this is me transferring again to a new school when in fact, we just moved here last year and now I'll be moving to a different school again. And take note, this is not your typical school, but basically, every rich people study there. Yes, all candidates in the top 100 are included, but I guess as long as you're rich you get to study there. Really, it's frustrating me! I hope I at least get along with someone in the school.

"Ma'am, we have just arrived at your school." One more thing, this formality with my driver and all these security guards standing outside of my car right now is a new thing to me. Like really? are they even necessary to be here? I just sighed and went outside of the car. I roam my eyes as I see everyone in the same state as mine. Going down with their own cars with a bunch of security guards waiting for them to come down. Aishh. I guess being rich requires this.

I just continued walking and got mesmerized by my own school. Wow, this place is really big. Everything is just breathtaking that words are not enough to describe the place and believe me, this is a school you want to study to. The environment is very much pleasing and you can assure you're safe here. Well, with all these bodyguards who wouldn't be? I stopped at the entrance since we still need to tap our IDs for us to enter but I placed first my bag on the security x-ray scanner system. Like those scanning machines you see in airports. I guess you won't be really able to bring drugs or beers here. Not a problem to me, I hate drugs and alcohols.

I then proceeded, after my bag was checked and got assisted by a staff of the school to proceed to the auditorium for the opening ceremony. I then followed her and sat in a near-vacant seat.

"Hi! new student?" A black haired girl cheerfully greeted me.

"Uhm, hi, yes I am" I just shyly smiled at her. This girl is actually pretty.

"Jisoo by the way, and don't be shy! We can be friends you know!" She said and slightly giggled. Great, I'll have a friend on the first day of school!

"Uhm thanks, I'm Jennie" I still smiled shyly. What? I still feel awkward since we just met.

"So, knowing you're here, you're a daughter of a new face rich man in the country huh?" She said teasingly.

"Yeah right" I just said and grinned while shaking my head.

"What rank? if you don't mind?"

"Uhm, 99, I mean we just moved here in Korea from New Zealand then suddenly we're one of the richest family you know!" I said in disbelief but still with a smile on my face.

"Woah! I bet your dad is amazing! That's a fast progress!"

"Right, uhm, how about your family?"

"Well, we just ranked 9 this year, last year we were at 16"

"What the hell? so you're richer than me huh? Better treat me during lunch!" I said teasingly to her.

"Come on! we're both rich so a treat is not needed!" She said and winked at me. I just laughed and nodded. Right, we're rich people, a treat is not needed! hahaha. We stopped talking as some adults went up the stage. I guess the owner and the school director along with the principal?
