Perrethia combed her golden locks, running her fingers through it nervously. It was the day she would go down to earth for the first time. Meeting humans in Heaven never truly compared to a pure interaction. Entering Heaven meant many things (much of which humans have taken upon themselves to define). With suffering coming to an end, a sense of purifying occurred when they entered. Their persona remained, but they weren't like before. At least, not one hundred percent. God often warned her of this truth; Heaven was not a perfect example of humans at their truest form, but their purest. There were certain truths she wasn't able to understand, but there was no way she could. Not without the firsthand experience, anyway.
While she trusted Their word, she still wondered. Truths didn't feel as so until they were proven, and that was all Perrethia wanted to do.
A small knock came from her door, shaking her out of her thoughts. She opened it and in came the small boy she spoke to before.
"Greg," she smiled warmly. "Hello!"
"Hi, Miss," He waved. "I heard you're leaving."
"Shh," She whispered, placing a finger on his lips. She glanced around, allowing it to fall silent for a few seconds before she let out the breath she was holding in. "Yes, I am. For a little bit. How did you know?"
The boy nodded. "Aspyn accidentally let it out to me."
Perrethia sighed and nodded. She couldn't blame Aspyn for letting the information slip out. While she was someone she had grown very close to since she arrived, it was a lot of weight to place on anybody. It was a big thing Perrethia was about to do and it had to be handled in silent movements. "I only told Aspyn in case of any trouble, but you two are the only ones who know."
"Can I.. Can I ask you for something?" He asked.
"Of course. What is it," She kneeled down.
"Check on my mom? If she's sad, could you change that? Please.... Miss." He added quietly, fidgeting with his fingers.
"Come here," She motioned for the boy. He stepped close to her. She placed her hands on his small shoulders and stared into his eyes. She shut them momentarily and saw he image of his mother, tender and loving memories the two shared.
"Your eyes were glowing," he stated, amazement laced in his voice.
"They were," she laughed. "I won't be allowed to help much while I'm down, but i'll make sure your mom is one of the first I will try to. You have my word."
He smiled and hugged her, his head bumping into her hip. "Goodbye, Miss! I'll see you soon?"
"Soon," She promised.
She stared at the mirror neatly placed on the floor, adorned by the white rose petals surrounding it. She took a deep breath and waved her hand over it as she has before, focusing all of her energy in the city Greg spoke to her about. A large wheel, Big Ben, red buses driving up and down the streets -- the London he spoke to her about. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and concentrated deeply, stepping on to the mirror as she fell through it. Everything around her moved fast and left her gasping for air. Her eyes remained shut, much too afraid to witness what surrounded her. Before she knew it, she stopped. The sound of birds chirping and car horns greeted her ears, a chilly wind blowing against her long dress. Standing up from the hard, concrete ground, she took in her surroundings, a light gasp escaping her lips.
She was in human territory now.
