"Tears shed for another person are not a sign of weakness. They are a sign of a pure heart."

The Chosen Ones ~ Dream Evil

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Percy followed Alex,  the three boys eyes raked across the house, hands on their weapons.
"Do not worry about being attacked cousins, the house is heavily warded." Alex said nonchalantly as he walked deeper  into the house head held high.
"What do you mean warded?" Jason asked.
Alex shrugged. "My mother was a daughter of Hecate, she warded the house from monster attacks, yet when she went into town one day she never returned."
Percy looked at the back of his newest youngest cousins back with sympathy. They sat down and a skeleton appeared, wearing only a bowtie.
"What the Hades?" Percy whispered.
Alex laughed. "This is Alfred, my butler. Ask him for any drink and he will deliver it to you, the cups here are enchanted. Much like the ones at your camp."
Jason raised his eyebrows. "Batman fan?"
Alex smirked as he sat down in his chair. "Yes, mother wouldn't let me out of the house that much as my aura is very strong. Being a child of Hades and a legacy of Hecate, has it's disadvantages."
"So what powers do you have? How did you know our names?" Nico demanded.
"I have the powers of Hades much like you brother, also the powers of Hecate. I can warp the mist to my purpose and my dreams are much stronger than that of an average demigod. I can chose to see the past, present and future. Much like Rachel the oracle of your precious camp." Alex explained.
The three cousins nodded thoughtfully before Percy responded. "Alright cuz, your father wants us to bring you to camp. You will be safe there."
Alex nodded slowly. "You do not fully grasp what will happen if I do go to your camp Perseus Jackson."
Percy felt a shiver run down his spine at the tone his youngest cousin. "It doesn't matter, we cannot disobey an order from one of the big three."
Alex replied. "Alright, Alfred!" The skeleton entered the room and looked at the youngest child of Hades. Percy imagined it raised it's eyebrows at its master. "Pack my things, I am leaving."
  The skeleton bowed it's head before disappearing, Alex stood up and looked at his cousins.
"If it is alright cousins as we wait I would like to spar."
Nico, Percy and Jason looked at each other and smiled. "Which one of us would you like to spar with?"
Alex raised an eyebrow at them. "All of you of course, it wouldn't do me any good if I could only battle one of you."
Jason scoffed. "Alex we defeated a primordial god, what makes you think you could stand up to us?"
Alex, looking slightly miffed replied. "I have been trained to wield a sword by Achilles himself at fathers insistence, I am sure I can handle it."
"Alright, do you have an arena in this house?" Percy asked.
Alex nodded and waved his hand in a 'follow me' gesture, as they walked to a staircase, they walked down and the entire basement had cushions on the walls and a stone floor. A weapon rack was on the side.
"I assume you all have your own weapons?" Alex asked  with raised eyebrows. His three cousins nodded that we was correct.
"Good." Alex replied as he walked to the other side of the room. Percy, Jason and Nico drew their weapons.
"I have watched all three of you in my dreams, I hope you do not disappoint." Alex said as shadows wrapped around his body, the shadows disappeared leaving Alex in ancient Greek hopilite armour. It was gleaming black with intricate stygian iron patterns swirling about it. In his hand he held a stygian spear and a shield in his other.
"Down here, when you are injured, the wounds no matter how severe are healed instantly, you cannot die." Alex informed his cousins.
His three cousins raised their eyebrows before nodding and charged their little cousin. But Alex was quick, he thrust his spear at Percy who was in the middle. Percy parried the strike as Jason and Nico came from the right and left.
When Alex made his move, Jason and Nico attacked in perfect unison, but quick and precise as a true warrior Alex blocked Nico's strike with his shield, Jason's strike was blocked by a spear. Percy moved in for the kill but Alex kicked him back. After he he dropped to a knee leaving Nico stumbling forward, Alex stood up as Nico was about to fall on him, flipping him on his back. Alex thrust his spear at Jason who wisely backed up. Before Alex stomped hard on Nico's chest, leaving him gasping for air as his diaphragm was shattered.
Percy attacked again, Riptide a bronze blur. It connected with Alex's shield, Alex pushed with all of his strength sending Percy flying back into the far wall, dazed.
One on one even the mighty Jason Grace was no match for the young son of Hades, Jason fell for a feint, leaving his chest open which Alex easily pierced with his spear.
Percy looked down at his two dead cousins, praying that Alex was telling the truth that they will be revived after the fight.
"Do not worry Percy, I swear on the Styx that they will come back to life after the fight." Alex swore, thunder boomed overhead, Percy waited as second but when it was clear Alex wasn't lying he charged.
Alex jabbed at his eldest cousin but riptide moved the strike away from Percy's body, Percy body checked his cousin sending him stumbling a few steps back. Knowing that a spear is useless in close quarters Percy maintained his close proximity to his cousin, Alex stabbed with his spear again but Percy was ready. He moved to the side, with his free hand grabbed the shaft of the spear. Then using riptide, he shattered the spear in half.
He kicked Alex hard in the chest, sending Alex back a few feet. Alex looked at Percy as he drew as shortsword from his shield, he looked at Percy in the eyes. And he saw why it was that Percy was always victorious, there was no fear in the demigod son of Poseidon's eyes just raw determination not to lose.
Alex charged, Percy parried the attack than ducked as Alex's shield sailed over his head. He kicked Alex in the leg dropping him to a knee, Percy whirled around, using the strength from the spin to decapitate his cousin. But before he knew it Alex had him in a bear hug.
Percy struggled, as did Alex desperately trying to hold on to his cousin, Percy stomped hard on Alex's foot. Making Alex wince, Percy dropped riptide and crouched, grabbing riptide and swung, cutting through Alex's armour and stomach before slashing again cutting his cousin's throat. With a gurgle of disbelief Alex fell to the floor, blood pooled around him. Percy watched in horror, before a chime was heard, the blood stopped ebbing away from Alex and into his body. Alex sat up with a gasp, two more gasps were heard as Jason and Nico drew breathes yet again.
Alex got up holding his throat. "Good spar cousin."
Percy laughed whether it was from relief or that his cousin didn't care that he lost he didn't know. "Yea it was, ready to go to camp half blood?"
Alex nodded. "Yes it is time to go."
After a brief Iris message to Chiron the boys explained that they should be back in New York in two days. They got on a greyhound that night and without any problems reached the New York station in two days, Argus picked them up and drove them to the camp. During all that travel the three found that Alex was quite smart and some one they got along with perfectly.
They walked up the hill and Percy swore he heard Alex say.
"The prophecy will come to pass, I will die here and the Olympians shall perish under the wrath of Hades."
