Song of the Chapter

Careless ~ Neffex

Quote of the Chapter

"Throughout life people will make you mad, disrespect you and treat you bad. Let God deal with the things they do, cause hate in your heart will consume you too."

― Will Smith

This Chapter is dedicated to @moonshade2007  for the idea for this chapter.

Also a quick thing, two chapters ago I had Athena raped. I DO NOT condone that type of behavior, I think it is disgusting and absolutely wrong and rapists should face the full extent of the law.

The army has been on the march for the last six hours, hardly any chatting was heard through the army as everyone had lost a close friend. Brothers really, forged through the trenches of war. Grey was riding his horse next to Percy, Zoe and Jason, the truth was is he was cut deep by Nico's death just as much as they were. He saw Percy's face this morning and he was terrified, in those sea green and black eyes told him that he would not be dealing with the same Percy he had previously been dealing with. This was a man that would stop at absolutely nothing, pay any price to see the gods all Faded, this was man that suffered to many insults in his short life to care about his well being any more.

"So we are going to march for a week straight to get to the Kingdom of the Gods?" Grey asked finally, the six hours to much for him to bear in silence.

"No we have to stop at the valley of Heroes." Percy responded.

"What is there?" Jason asked.

"Chaos said we would meet allies there, I already asked the Black Hand to scout it out for us. They said they found a camp filled with demigods."

"You talked to Chaos?"

"Demigods? Isn't that a trap?" Jason and Grey asked at the same time.

"Yes I talked to Chaos Jason, no Grey I do not believe so. But nonetheless we should be on full alert." Percy sighed, he enjoyed the silence. He didn't want to be reminded about Nico, not that he ever will forget.

"Is Chaos going to bring him back?" Jason asked hopefully.

"He said a sacrifice of great grief will bring Nico back, other than that there is nothing he could do." Percy explained, Jason opened his mouth to ask another question but Percy raised his hand and cut him off. "Yes I offered my self as a sacrifice, no Chaos didn't accept because he said I have to finish this."

Zoe's head snapped up at Percy saying he would sacrifice himself for Nico and it looked like she was going to say something but chose not to.  They all drifted off back to the uncomfortable silence, before Grey asked.

"Zoe could I talk to you please?"

Zoe nodded as the two drifted back. "What is it Grey?"

"I am worried for Percy, he seems to not be himself." Grey said.

Zoe sighed as she patted the black mares neck she was riding on before she replied. "I do not know Grey, there isn't anything he would not do for his friends but I think you may be right. All this loss might be to much for him to handle alone."

Grey nodded slowly. "It is a good thing he won't be alone than."

Zoe raised an eyebrow at him, before he continued. "I know that is none of my business but you and Percy have seemed close, closer than before. I hope that it works out well and I wish you both nothing but the best."
