Lavender.
I could smell lavender.
I opened my eyes in confusion, only to narrow them at the sight of of a bright blue ceiling. Last time I checked, the ceiling was pink, like the rest of the room I'd been assigned. So, clearly, this was not my room.
Which could mean a lot of things, and not all of them were good.
I continued to stare at the ceiling, weighting the options of being kidnapped by one of the vampires on my first official night of joining the household.
After a moment, I dismissed the thought with an inwardly, hoping that--if possible--Reiji had the common sense behind that thick cold mask of a face expression he wore not to let me get kidnapped on the very first day.
And while asleep.
That would kill the mood faster than a vampire can say "bite".
Either way, I could easily imagine Ayato, or Laito, or even Kanato, dragging me off to who knows where in the ass crack of dawn just because it struck them fancy.
Pushing the thought aside, I looked around quizzically, only to find my arms were leaned against a long round table. On the table was a glass vase over-stuffed with lavenders, which I assumed was the source of the smell.
Yay me. Half genius.
I inspected the vase a little more closely.
The way the flowers had been shoved was sloppy, clearly the work of a child or a very bad flower decorator.
I wasn't done checking out the vase, but my eyes peered upwards before I could even think about protesting, which made me realize something vital as I let out a long yawn despite not being tired at all.
I couldn't control my body.
Two chubby, around five year old hands suddenly started fixing the collar of my dressy purple coat. It took me a moment to realize that they weren't just someone's hands, looking at it through eye view, those were my hands.
...
Deja vu...
Where the actual hell am I?
Better yet, who the actual hell am I?
As I continued to yell inwardly in total confusion since I couldn't apparently say anything out loud, "my" eyes suddenly landed on a boy sitting right beside me. A boy whom I--miraculously--had not noticed since "waking up".
Well, it wasn't like I had much control my eyes to begin with.
Tch.
"My" lips curved into a smile when I spotted him, so I could only guess this guy was "my" friend. He looked bored out of his mind, sitting in front of a pile of books, holding one up with his hand and flicking through the pages with bored disinterested red eyes.
His straight black hair was designed neatly over his head, and a pain of glasses sat on top of his nose. He looked incredibly clean for a five year old. Almost too neat.
And there was something... almost.... lonely trapped in his red eyes...
The boy looked up suddenly, as if realizing I had been staring at him, and pushed up his glasses.
That action I recognized immediately.
Reiji...?
'You've been asleep for a while now, Ryo-chan.' The Reiji looking kid said with a smile. 'Do I bore you?' Was he... teasing"me"?
