{Chapter 3: One less problem without you}
How. It was the one word that drove Katie nuts as she sat at her usual table with Danielle. How did I become the talk of the school just over the span of a weekend?!
"Earth to Katie!!!!" A voice rang in her ears.
Katie jumped back a bit, surprised to find her other friend, Adela waving her hand in front of her face. "Oh! Adela! When did you get here?"
"Just now. I would've been here earlier, but the line up is really long." She explained. Their school were one of few that actually had decent cafeteria food. Adela had medium-length hair the color of freshly brewed coffee in the morning with matching eyes.
"It's okay." Katie smiled, biting into a piece of her Hawaiian pizza. Mmm
Danielle laughed. "Mind her, she's distracted.
Katie glared at Danielle, her eyes like daggers. "Shut up."
"Hey where's Sophia?" Adela asked as she looked around the table, noticing their friend wasn't there.
"Right here!"
The three turned their heads to find Sophia walking towards them, her pitch black hair bouncing with every step she took.
"Hey Sophie." Katie smiled.
"Hey." She smiled, sitting next to her. "So I heard something happened between you and a certain bad boy." She teased, a play full glint in her eyes.
"Ugh." Katie groaned in disgust. "Not you too."
"Oh yeah, what did happen? Because I seriously doubt you lost your V-card to Jack." Adela added.
"Thank you!!!! Someone sane around here!" Katie smiled in relief before explaining everything to her three friends
"So if the rumors aren't true, then what happened after you two left?" Sophia asked, raising a brow.
"Nothing. I went home right after, I swear. I'm not too sure about Jack though." Katie shrugged.
"So why don't you ask him?" Danielle suggested. "I mean, now it's your business."
Sophia nodded. "Yeah. Go get some answers."
"I will. But I don't want to seem like I actually care. I'll just ask when he comes up to me or something." Katie shrugged before continuing her lunch.
"Well, speak of the devil." Adela said randomly.
"Huh?" Katie asked, confused
"Turn around."
But before Katie could, Jack was sitting where Sophia was as he threw his arm around her shoulder.
"Hey babe." He smirked.
"I am not your babe." Katie said in disgust. "And get your arm off of me."
"Aww what your problem?" Jack pouted.
Katie rolled her eyes. "You are. I mean the whole school thinks we slept together! Where did you go afterwards anyway??"
He shrugged. "Somewhere."
"You're impossible."
"Not if you want me."
"In your dreams."
"You know it."
"Ugh, see you around, Jack." Katie sighed in frustration as she stood up, followed by Adela, Danielle and Sophia.
The four girls retreated to the hallway where their lockers were at. "I can't believe him!" Katie shouted as she slammed her locker closed after getting her textbooks for her next class.
"How was he so nice to you at the dance?" Danielle asked.
"I know! He seemed pretty nice from what you told us." Adela agreed.
"He's a bad boy. He's unpredictable." Sophia shrugged.
"So what are you going to do?" Adela asked.
Katie sighed. "I don't know."
