{Chapter 2: Rumor has it}

Monday morning, Katie woke up early and hopped into the shower. She then changed into a white tank top, a dark grey hippie-styled cardigan, some shorts that went down to her mid-thigh and her grey converses. 

She made her way down the stairs, greeting her beagle, Fifi. "Hey there, girl! You want some food?" She smiled, grabbing her some dog food. 

Fifi barked happily and ate her food. 

"Now, I have to eat too." Katie smiled. She grabbed some cereal and sat down at the kitchen island, checking her messages. She noticed that her friend, Danielle had called her last night.

"Omg Katie where did you go after the dance??? Everyone was looking for you! Like, EVERYONE!!!! Sooooo gotta talk to you Monday!!!"

Katie frowned in confusion. "What is she talking about?" She asked herself.

"Are you talking to yourself again?"

Katie looked up and saw her dad enter the kitchen. "Yeah. I'm going to head to school early today, Dad. Dani wants to talk to me about something."

"Alright. Love you sweetheart." He said, planting a kiss atop her head before she grabbed her backpack.

"Love you too dad. Bye bye Fifi!" She said, petting her beagle before heading out towards her bike. She rode to school like any other day  and locked it up against a pole.

She walked inside to her locker, finding Danielle already there. 

"Omg what happened at the dance?!" Danielle asked frantically upon seeing her friend.

"Hi to you too." Katie laughed as she opened her locker. 

"Hi. Now tell me what happened!!!"

"Why? Nothing really happened." Katie shrugged, taking out her books.

"Are you kidding me?? The whole school is talking about it!"

"Fine. Hunter approached me and started trying to flirt with me then Jack just got him to leave. Thats all that happened." Katie explained simply. She didn't understand why another one's life is so interesting to others.

"You have got to be kidding me. That's it?!" 

"Yes! That's all that happened."

Danielle sighed, frustrated. "Ugh. The rumors sound so much better."

Katie turned to her friend, intrigued by what the other students had to say. "And what exactly did you hear?"

"Oh nothing."

"Danielle." Katie spoke forcefully. Clearly it was bad, which gave Katie another reason to find out what had been said.

"Fine! You left early so everyone thought that you left to like, study or something but then people noticed that Jack was gone too so people thought he had convinced you to get into bed with him." Danielle says quickly, but Katie still manages to hear every single word.

"WHAT?!" Katie shouted as she slammed her locker door closed, earning some looks from people in the hall. "Who told you this?!"

"Jack Chapman."

Katie stormed down the hall towards her math class, knowing that Jack had math during 1st period with her. As she stormed past the students who were now milling about, she earned some whistles and some inappropriate comments about her in bed. She busted into the room, and for once, Jack was there, sitting on his desk with a smug smirk on his lips. 

"Jack!" She shouted.

"Yes, babe?" He asked smugly, walking up to her.

"How dare you tell the whole school that we slept together when it we clearly didn't!" She shouted furiously, her face red with anger.

"Oh come on, it was a harmless rumor."

"Harmless?? I can't go two seconds walking down the hall without someone asking me-" She paused, realizing the math teacher just walked in. "-about it."

Jack rolled his eyes. "C'mon, Katie. It was a joke. Loosen up."

"I will once you cleared this up!"

"God damn! Okay! Just calm your self!!" He replied, rolling his eyes as he took his seat.

Katie sat down at her seat as well, still fuming mad. I can't believe there are rumors going around about me in bed. Ugh, I seriously don't understand society. But one thought remained at the back of her head; Why do I care?

Yay! New chapter on Friday just as I promised! :) 

I found this really cool song by GRL (they sang with Pitbull in Wild Wild Love) and it's like, the ultimate bad boy song. I'll link it to the side so go check it out and I'll probably use it in this story!
