I scanned the room. There were so many familiar faces. I saw a bunch of my friends. I saw Laura and Emily, Aurora and Katrina, I saw Saddie with Riley and a couple others. I didn't know who to say hi to first. My question was answered when I saw Aaron approaching me. He had a smile plastered on his face. I willingly embraced his hug. A thing he was always good at.

"You look stunning."

I could feel my cheeks warming but I didn't even care.

"Thank you, you look quite handsome yourself." I praised.

"Thank you. Listen I have to go find a couple of people so if you want to go dance with you're friends I will find you in a little bit." He said.

"Yeah that's fine, I'll see you soon."

And with that we parted. I went and found my friends. We stayed on the outer bend of the dance floor. When you got closer to the center that's when it gets more heated. People grinding and making out everywhere, but it was high school what do you expect.

Many pop songs played. One after another. It wasn't really my type of music, but I knew it because I listen to the radio in the car.

I felt a hand creep around my waist and I turn to see Aaron. I was excited because I hadn't seen him since the beginning of the dance.

As if on cue the DJ started playing a slow song.

"Would you care to dance?" Aaron said.

"I thought you would never ask!" I exclaimed.

He brought both of his hands on my waist and I wrapped my arm around his neck moving closer. I laid my head upon his chest. The music was calm and relaxing. I felt so serene just swaying with Aaron. What was only minutes felt like hours and I could honestly stay is his hold forever. But sadly, the song ended and I released from our touch.

The rest of the dance went as usual, dancing, jumping and singing along with the music. A couple more slow songs came on and I danced to those with Aaron. Before I knew it the dance was almost over. I really did have loads of fun and the night was only getting started. I said goodbye to all my friends even though I would see half of them in a short while.

I waited outside for my dad to pick me up and take me to Saddie's. Luckily I wasn't one of those people who drank so I could easily have my parents pick me up.

My dad rolled up in his red car and I hopped in the front seat. He greeted me and asked how the dance was. Pretty usual parent conversations.

We got to Saddie's house and I was welcomed by her mom. I absolutely adored her mother because she was so nice and good to talk to. She said that everyone was in the basement chilling. They beat me here by a few minutes. We all sat down ate some pizza and conversed. I talked with Aaron for about fifteen minutes until Saddie appears with an empty beer bottle.

"Time to play spin the bottle."

Typical. I was never really one for cheesy party games. They usually never last anyways because everyone has the attention span of a squirrel. So I've seen these played, but I've never quite participated in one. I mean if everyone stays focused it could be fun right. Even though I don't see why teenagers get enjoyment from kissing multiple friends of the opposite sex. Seems to me as if it could get awkward as well. Whatever Nova, I told myself, why not live a little.

We all huddled into a circle. There were about eight different guys there including Aaron. I don't really mind him kissing other girls because it just a game and then I get to kiss him too so it's not really a big deal. If he didn't want me to play though I would certainly oblige, but he hasn't said anything of the sort so maybe he doesn't care either, like me.

"Here are the rules." Saddie started. "Everyone sit in a circle and spin the bottle. If it lands on someone of the same sex just spin again. If you land on someone once it's just a peck on the lips, if you land on the same person twice it's five second kiss, if you land on the same person three times it's ten seconds, and if you land on them four times it's open mouth make out, we will figure out the rest if more than four times occur. Is everyone ok with that?"

We all agreed and begin to start the game. Saddie started of course. She kissed a boy named William. William kissed Aurora and Aurora kissed Steve. A couple more people spun the bottle and neither me nor Aaron were landed on yet. A boy in my grade named Scott took the bottle for his turn. He spun it, eyes mesmerized by the rotation of the bottle. It began to slow as it spun from person to person.

It gradually got slower and slower. the bottle had stopped. The opening of the bottle turned towards me. I know it sounds lame, but I've never had my first kid yet. Yep classic sophomore that hasn't been kissed yet. And to sound even more lame, I was hoping that my first kiss would be Aaron. Now everyone was looking and smiling at me. Scott leaned to me and I leaned in as well and we pecked. Honestly nothing even special. It's funny how lips touching is even supposed to symbolize love. It's literally two body features being pressed against each other. I was very disappointed that my first kiss wasn't what I wanted, but who was I kidding. I signed up to play this game. Did I really think that somehow Aaron would be the one to spin the bottle on me?

Now it was my turn to spin. I didn't expect much and that's really what I got because again I didn't land on Aaron. Instead just another boy in my grade named Alex.

The game went on. Aaron got landed on by a couple girls from the party. I was landed on a couple more times from various boys. I was paying no attention to the game except for when the bottle was turned towards me. I was daydreaming when I saw that was again landed on. I glanced up to see who I had to kiss this time. I see Aaron moving towards me. I suddenly became very nervous. I wasn't ready to kiss him, even though I had kissed nearly every other boy in the circle.

I stared at him wide eyed for a couple of seconds. He leaned in slowly looking at me as if he was asking me if it was okay. I nodded slightly so that only he could notice. Our lips touched for only a second. We both backed away and looked at each other. I felt the world had seemed to stop even though the game kept going. I felt the butterflies in my stomach and the only thing I wanted to do was kiss him again.

He got up to go back to his seat. When I looked over I realized that he was still looking at me. I quickly looked away because I felt my cheeks blushing.

The game went on and before I knew it it was again my time to spin. That time and every time I spun the bottle it landed on Aaron. I had to kiss him for five second and ten seconds and every rule that Saddie had created.

Soon enough 1 am came around. We had stopped playing for a while and now everyone was just talking and chilling. I had made small conversation with Aaron, but I'm pretty sure I was still in shock from all that had happened tonight.

My dad came sooner rather that later, but I understand considering it was getting late. I got home and realized that I was pretty tired. I laid down in my bed and checked my phone one last time before I fell asleep. I saw I had one message from Aaron.

I had fun tonight! xx :)

And with that my lips curled into a smile and my eyes closed for the night.
