Aimee's house was a street back from the beach, behind the pavilion. It was a cute little place, the fenced off front garden had Alfie's toys scattered about and her dog Kita was stretched out on the porch. As I walked up to the gate Kita sat up and began to bark. Next doors door opened then and a smaller dog came rushing up to the fence barking and jumping up and down. A familiar voice came from the door of the second house.

"Mugsy shut up!"

I turned towards the house, "Reidy?"

"Oh hey Tess, how you doing?" Reidy asked, closing to door to the house.

"I'm good, I didn't know you lived next to Aimee?"

"Yeah, I'm the reason she knows all the boys, I showed her around when she moved in." Reidy opened the gate infront of me and I followed him round the side of the house, into Aimee's garden.

There were only a few people in the garden when we arrived. Mouse was stood at the BBQ with Jesse who had his arm around a girl with the most stunning eyes ever and they were all laughing and Aimee was stood talking to Chappo and Kerrbox by the back door. Aimee look round just as I entered the garden and waved me over.

"Hey Tessa!" Called Chappo as I was walking over, "Bluey was wondering if you would show up after she was such a bitch yesterday."

Aimee scowled at him, "Chappo! I told you not to call me Bluey!" She turned to me, "Tessa, Hun I'm so so so sorry about yesterday, I really am happy for you it was just a bad time. I'm so sorry."

I smiled at her, "It's okay Aimee, really, Mouse kind of explained and I know you didn't mean it." I grinned slyly and asked, "So why Bluey?"

Chappo's face lit up and Aimee sunk her face onto Kerrbox's shoulder and groaned. "Well," Chappo began to explain, "when we first met Aimee, she had had a bit of trouble at the salon and her hair had been dyed bright blue and wouldn't be bleached out."

I laughed, "How long was it blue?"

Aimee scowled, "4 months, I was kind of liking it though by the time it grew out."

The garden was beginning to fill up by now which Mugsy and Kita where very much loving, hoping that someone would pay them attention and maybe sneak them some food. The men were clustered round the BBQ passing Alfie between them, trying to stop him from stealing their drinks and Aimee took me up to a group of women to introduce them to me.

There were 4 women stood there, the first one who was not that much older than me was the girl stood next to Jesse earlier, "Tessa, this is Abigail," Aimee said pointing to the girl, who waved politely at me. "She's Jesse's girlfriend." She pointed toward the two women who were holding young children. "These two beautiful mums are Gina and Emily, Whippet and Harries wives with Nixon and lil' babby Billy." The women smiled and jiggled their children round in their arms.

"And I'm Charlotte," The last girl said, she had gorgeous red hair that was glinting in the sunlight and she was smiling at me in a friendly way. "I'm with Harrison."

Gina grinned, "She's the cougar in the group."

"There's only a years difference!" Charlotte gasped, "Not like Aimee and Mouse! There almost 10 years there!"

"Hey! I though we weren't going to mention the age gap between Mouse and I anymore?!"

I turned around and left them arguing, searching for a face in the crowd to talk to.

Suddenly Bacon popped into view and I made my way over to him and gave him a hug.

"Hey" he said smiling down at me, "How are you feeling?"

"Great," I replied, still leaning into his chest.

"Are you sure?" He asked pushing me away so her could look into my eyes, "You seem slightly off?"

I pulled a face, "There's just a lot of people thats all, I feel a bit overwhelmed."

He took my hand and dragged me through some trees to a quiet secluded part of the garden where we sat squished together on a tiny little bench.

"That better?" Bacon asked. And I nodded, resting my head on his shoulder. "Ready for your first official day at work tomorrow? It's supposed to be very hot and busy."

Even at the thought of it my stomach began to fill with excitement and my grin stretched automatically across the whole of my face. "Yup! Can't wait, this is the moment I have been waiting for all my life, of course I'm ready."

He laughed, "Good to know you're excited, Hoppo will appreciate the enthusiasm."

I laughed and adjusted my position so I was leaning down the side of him.

"Listen," he said cautiously, "If someone you had known for a while now began to like you in a different way, what would you do?"

I wrinkled my eyebrows confused. "What do you mean Bacon?"

He blushed, "Tessa, will you, would you like to go out on like a date sometime? I mean if you don't want to then..."

I held up my hand to stop him, my smile threatening to take over the whole of my face. "I would love to."
