It was early afternoon when you came back from the ultrasound you did. Unfortunately Nick couldn't come with you since him and Ward had to do the early shift. You called to tell him you'd be home a little later and that you were getting something to eat.
When you arrived at your house you could see Daryl's car standing outside. Of course him and Nick didn't have a good start but over time they became best buddies. Ward and his wife Sherri along with their daughter Sophia were actually some of the first to know about your pregnancy.
You opened the door and found the two of them sitting on the couch drinking some coffee.
"Hello there my favorite boys", you smiled.
Nick immediately jumped up and greeted you. A kiss and a hug later it was time for Daryl to hug you.
"How are my babies?", Nick asked.
You knew he actually meant you and the baby but ... you were having twins.
"Is everything okay? Is it breathing? Alive?", he continued.
"My God Jakoby, calm down", Daryl chimed in.
You smiled a little.
"Everything is fine. Want to see a picture?", you asked.
The boys were sitting down again while you took off your coat. You quickly placed the food in the kitchen and came back to them being nervous.
"You have a picture? Really? Is it well?", Nick asked with his ears slightly twitching.
"Well", you started and looked for the picture.
He inhaled sharply. He was already thinking the worst.
"It is not well but they are", you said and grinned.
You handed him the picture where you could clearly see two embryos. Ward was a bit faster at thinking and jumped up to hug you.
"CONGRATULATIONS", he yelled which made you giggle.
You gently touched your belly, smiling down on your twins, while waiting for Nick to move. He was still sitting on the couch, looking at the print you just gave him. You could see his mind was running wild. He gently stroked the picture and then looked up to you.
"Twins? Are you sure?", he asked, his voice a bit raspy.
"I guess so", you smiled.
"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God", he said and jumped up.
He hugged you, lifted you up and spun you around. Then he carefully placed you down and touched your belly.
"I can't believe it!", he said smiling at you.
"Are you happy?", you grinned.
"Happy? Are you kidding me? I am the happiest person on earth. And so so proud", he gave back.
Nick pulled you closer for a passionated kiss. The he kneeled down in front of you, kissing your belly.
"Hello little ones. I love you. Both of you", his voice was cracking and his hands shaking, "I can't wait to meet you."
You could see that he had tears in his eyes. After a quick kiss on your belly, he stood up and hugged you again.
"Well isn't that the cutest", Ward said, bringing you back to reality.
"Shut up", you said and giggled.
You couldn't wait for Nick to see and hold your twins.
