I stood up from my bed, like I had been attacked in my sleep, and I checked the time on my phone beside my bed. It was 8:37am. Gosh! I'm late. I had overslept.
I jumped out of my bed and walked briskly to the bathroom. I did all that was necessary before coming out. I applied the deodorants and wore a simple dress. I was literally rushing to do everything. I checked myself for the last in the mirror.
'You look good!' My subconscious mind screamed at me. "Why thank you." I replied, to myself.
I rushed out of the room and bumped into Rachel.
"Where are you rushing to?" She said.
"Like seriously, you're asking me that? After not waking me up?! Well, I'm going to your head!" I shot at her.
"Oh." She sounded guilty. "Well, it skipped my mind."
I rolled my eyes before checking the time, which sent an alert to me that I was freaking late. "I gat to go girl!" I said before running downstairs to the dinning room.
"Good morning mum." I said in in a hurry.
"How..."
"What's for breakfast?" I asked, cutting her off.
She stayed mute, looking at me in disgust. I hadn't noticed until I asked her another question.
"And you ha-" I trailed off. I met her eyes throwing daggers at me.
"So now, I'm your servant that you're asking me that kind of question right?"
"Sorry ma." I muttered.

After I had had my breakfast, I left the house in a hurry, thereby, making the biggest mistake of my life. I didn't remember to collect lunch money, not to talk of transport fare. Gosh! And I was miles away from home. I couldn't go back now. I guessed I just had to trek it.
Fifteen minutes had passed and I was still walking, tiredly. I hadn't even gone half way and I was exhausted already. How much more?
I kept on walking and I knew for sure I heard someone call my name, but due to how tired I was, I didn't want to turn back cause the person might probably just waste my time and I wasn't just ready for it.
"Ruby!" I heard the person call again but this time, it was louder. Bet the person was closer to me and it sounded like a male's voice.
"Ruby!" I could hear the heavy breathing of the person. Probably, he had been running just to get to me.
I turned back and beheld an exhausted Chuka. It was pretty obvious he had been running after me. He squatted and his mouth was slightly opened. He was sweating profusely and for a split moment he looked cuter than usual. His lips were red as ever.
"Huh...sorry, I didn't hear you call earlier." I lied. "Have you been following me?" I furrowed my eyebrows.
He sighed exasperatedly. "Damn, yes!" He stood up tiredly.
"Huh...sorry." I sigh.
He walked up to me slowly, smirking. I could swear, he looked cuter when he was exhausted. "Go..good morning." He said nervously.
I nodded and turned back to leave. "Hey." He held my arm firmly. I threw him a stern look and he dropped his hands immediately before saying. "I..I'm so..sorry." He scratched his head, not looking at me.
