T/W: Reference of suicide. If you fear you will be triggered by it, feel free to skip the chapter. I'll put a border around the parts which may be triggering.

"Lizzie?! But she's been missing for years now!" Ciel gasped, almost dropping his blade.
"I've been building up to this moment, Ciel. Waiting for the perfect moment where I could take everything I wanted from you. Imagine poor Lizzie once she meets your new girlfriend!" Alois laughed maniacally, he's truly lost his mind. "No more games Ciel, this is the final battle."

"Fine, But, to add onto my winnings," Ciel collected himself quickly. "If I win, you are to never interfere with anything in my life, including the people in it, ever again!"
"Be careful what you wish for~ something tells me your little girlfriend has a thing for me" he mocked, winking at me.
"It's called a knife, don't make me use it," I growled as I glared back at him.

"Keep trying, darling~" Alois laughed as my face went red with anger. "Ciel, meet me at the town's centre at midnight. I want the whole city to watch you fail!" He laughed maniacally, and with a click of his finger, he and Hannah had disappeared without a trace.

Ciel sighed. I hated to think this way, but in his current state, there's no way he can win this battle. I called for Alfred and did the one thing I could think of. "Do you think there'll be any available trainers on short notice?"
"Wait- Abs- that isn't necessary."
"Ciel, shut up for just 2 minutes."

"I can handle myself perfectly fine."
"It's been years! you don't know what he's capable of!"
"he's an overzealous freak of nature, I doubt he could harm me."
"Ciel you could die!" I stared right into his eyes, I felt like I could cry. "I don't care about your petty feud with Alois! We're going to bring in everything we've got to ensure you win the battle."
He hesitated but nodded in return. "thank you, Abbie."

"I also don't want to work for that jerk. I'd rather be dead." I groaned, rolling my eyes.
"Mistress, this seems serious. If it would comfort you, I can mentor the earl myself." Alfred grinned slightly.
"That would be amazing! Thank you, Alfred." I smiled at him. "Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to try and find Madeline." I nodded to the two of them. Quickly walling out of the room.

I started with a simple location spell, knowing that Alois and Hannah have access to powerful magic I highly doubt they'd be idiotic enough not to protect the area, but, it's still worth a shot. I was given a quick response, a glowing spotted blue line led out the front door. Ciel was preoccupied so I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I walked out.

I hastily followed the blue line. I flicked up my eyepatch to see light imprints of slip-on flat-footed shoes. Exactly like the ones Maddie wears. although the imprints were faint, I could see remotely where they were headed.

A translucent, blue and glowing vision of Maddie stepped delicately into the forest, following the imprints. I quickly trailed behind her. She had been talking to someone, her words were highly muffled and inaudible. She was twirling around playfully and blowing kisses to the invisible person. "I love you, A" Her words were clear, after that she was silent.

"I don't." Another lower voice spoke. Madeline fell, she screamed. She looked like she was pushed by someone walking beside her. Her body fell into a bush, I quickly ran to it.  I pulled the bush apart and almost gave up hope until I noticed a small crack in the ground under the bush. I lifted it, there was a trapdoor underneath.

The trapdoor led to an underground tunnel, the tunnel was deep and I couldn't make out the bottom. I threw my hesitation out of my mind and quickly climbed down the ladder, taking off my shoes and holding them under my armpits.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I reached the bottom of the ladder. I wiped the sweat from my brows and put my shoes back on. I turned around and noticed something blocking my vision. It seemed like a young girls legs and feet, which seemed a bit odd. I gasped, it hit me. I stepped back cautiously and saw her. The limp, lifeless, hanging body of a young, long blonde haired girl.
I felt vomit travel up my throat as I held it back, gasping for air. this wasn't just any young blonde girl.
Lizzie?! But she's been missing for years now!
I've been building up to this moment, Ciel. Waiting for the perfect moment where I could take everything I wanted from you. Imagine poor Lizzie once she meets your new girlfriend!
the girl, hanging from the ceiling of these strange and empty tunnels, was Ciel's missing fiance, Elizabeth Midford. I could feel myself losing my breath. I turned and fell back onto the wall. my heartbeat was fast and my head felt airy, did I do this? Did she see me and Ciel together and got the wrong idea about us?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I wasn't alone in these tunnels anymore. I could hear faint, echoed voices.
"So, where'd you put her?"
"I gave her to another of my kind." There was a loud grunt coming from one of the two. "What? Is there an issue?"
"I just assumed this would be the one thing you weren't too lazy to do on your own. The hell did you even say? Did you even give an explanation?"
"What? Oh, hello, I need you to hold this innocent girl hostage so somebody else can use her appearance to complete another person's evil agenda!"

"What?" I muttered quietly, their loud gasps echoed as the two of them turned a corner and spotted me. I quickly jumped from the ground, taking a final look at Elizabeth. I felt sick to my stomach. I shook my head quickly and hastily climbed the ladder outside. I didn't have time to take my shoes off again.

I heard the metal clatter of a person climbing the ladder underneath me. I looked down and thought I saw... Madeline?
