"What's this?" I chuckled softly "Did Earl Ciel Phantomhive just show me... kindness?!" I gasped sarcastically. All I'd heard of him had been nothing less than an emotionless, power-hungry bastard.
"Cut it out!" He elbowed me "It's strange, I overheard your servants speak of how you're completely distant and almost monotone. Apparently, they've barely seen you crack a smile, or even cry. Yet, here I am, barely knowing you and already seeing both. Is there... any specific reason for that?" He grinned suspiciously."Don't make a big deal out of nothing, plenty of people have seen me at my best and worst." I chuckled softly as I let out a sigh.
"You should really express yourself more, instead of keeping it in. It's unhealthy!" He sighed, shaking his head and pinching his nose. "Besides, I think I like you more when you smile.""Slow down!" I laughed, covering my mouth. "You'll never see my smile ever again!" I taunted, I always heard of The Earl being stuck up and monotone, I wonder why he's loosened up so quickly?
"Fine," He paused with a soft chuckle "Guess my advice is too good for the pretty little princess!" He taunts sarcastically
"Pretty little princess? Me? You look like you haven't even started puberty yet!" I smiled from ear to ear, my cheeks were starting to hurt."Throwing stones, huh?" He turned away as he paused. "Just remember if it weren't for me you wouldn't be able to throw those stones!"
I decided to test something, Earl Phantomhive, you're in for a ride! "Just leave me alone already! I don't need a white knight in shining armour to protect me!" I scream, standing from the fountain. "I- I don't need friends, family, anything! I don't need you!"
"I- wait- I'm sorry-"
"Kidding." I smile, sitting back down on the fountain. "Just wanted to see if you really cared or not."
"Wuh- Hey!" His voice turned stern "I was just- I-"
"It's fine, near-death situations always bring people closer, it's even a mechanic in books. if the writers too lazy they'll just put the characters into a fire pit or something like that. I would've given you my jacket too but... I'm already wearing yours."
"Guh-... Whatever!" He turned away from me with his arms crossed and didn't look back. I'm assuming it was because he was embarrassed or blushing or something or rather. I held the two sides of the jacket together and held them close. I looked down to it and smiled. A boy had never given me his jacket to keep me warm before.someone walks up behind the fountain. "Well, if it isn't Ciel Phantomhive." His voice was loud, stern and proud, causing me to jolt in surprise. "And.. ooh, may this be his new girlfriend?"
We turn around to see, the one and only, Alois Trancy. "oh, come on, sweetie! Don't annoy the other couples!" A shockingly familiar voice teased, running up to Alois and gripping onto his arm.
"Madeline..?" An eyebrow arose on my forehead, why would Maddie choose someone like... him?"Abbie? It's such a delight seeing you!" She gleamed as her eyes lit up. "I didn't know you and Earl Phantomhive were-"
"Oh, goodness, there they are!" I looked off into the distance. "We have to go, Nice talking to you!" I quickly grabbed Ciel by the arm as I ran back to the grass field. "Which way from here to your manner?"
"What?" He gasped, pulling me back. "You seriously think you can just stay over like that?"
"What? No, I was trying to get you out of there. I was going to walk home."
"Why didn't you just call for your butler?"
"Why didn't you tell Sebastian to rescue me instead of attacking my brother?"
"I- hey-"
"Because someone wanted to hold my hand and frolic through the bushes~" I taunted, spinning."Hey! Don't cut me-"
"-Off, Lady Abigail!" I giggled "Oh? What's this? Did I just finish your sentence? We must be meant for one another!""Stop it! This is getting-"
"Irritating~" I sung, lying on the grass."Are you trying to annoy me?!"
"Hm..." I pause dramatically as I sit up from the grass. "Yes, actually." I laughed as his face went red. "Seriously, enjoy the rest of the night. I mean, how often do you have time without Sebastian?"
"Not very...""Me neither! So we should enjoy this while we can." I smile, patting the grass next to me as I crossed my legs.
"Fine." Ciel sits next to me and we sit in calm silence, enjoying the ambience of the natural environment around us. "By the way, you can call me Ciel. Instead of all this 'The Earl' act."
I smiled softly at him. "And you may call me Abigail. Instead of all this 'Lady Acacia' act."
He nodded and muttered something, I couldn't understand it, though."Ciel," I smile, tapping him on the shoulder.
"What is it now?" he sighed, turning his head to face me.
"Those stars up there, don't you think it looks like a screwdriver?" I point to the sky.
"I suppose you're right, however, that's a.. fairly odd thing to notice." Ciel raises an eyebrow as he groans."Have you heard of that one myth concerning the stars?" I ask, his expression proved not. "Supposedly, what you see in the stars will become a part of the next major event in your life. It may play a minor role, but if it does play any role at all it's considered good luck!" I smiled at him. "So, my next adventure will have a lucky screwdriver take part!" I giggled as my heart raced, imagining all of the adventures I could have which would include a screwdriver. It seems like such a random thing, I can't wait!
"That just sounds like some stupid superstition." he rolled his eyes as he looked up to the sky.
"It might be, are you willing to find out?" I put my hand out to shake. "Let's make a bet! If our next adventure includes a screwdriver, you need to spend the whole day with me! If it doesn't, well, you don't have to." I gleamed, imagine, someone who I had looked up to my whole life spending the day with me? Sure, he's a jerk. But a hero is still a hero!He smirks, looking me in the eye. "I'm always up for a bargain, be careful, though. I always win." he shakes my hand softly.
"Then it's settled!" I quickly stood from the grass and smiled. "Ciel Phantomhive, prepare yourself for the date of a lifetime!"
"It's not a date!" he stands quickly and pouts in anger."I'm joking, again." I smiled "Because, obviously, I'm hilarious."
"absolutely." Ciel rolled his eyes, sitting back down on the grass, patting down his clothes.
