A little after, I fell asleep on the grass. Yet somehow, when I awoke I was in my own bed. I thought that grass was a little too comfortable...
I open my eyes to see a long brown haired girl sitting at my bedside excitedly, staring directly at me.

"This is probably been the most I've seen you in my life." I sigh, pinching my nose. "Madeline,"
"Well, after I saw you with the earl yesterday I just had to come and see what the fuss was about!" She giggled, bouncing in her seat. "So~ how long has it been going on for~?"

"A few years, actually. We're super serious, I'm surprised you only just found out." I watched her expression change from excitement to confusion. I chuckled. "I'm joking, we aren't a thing yet and nor do I think we ever will be. Word on the street is he's got a fiance." I rolled my eyes.

"Ah~ When has that ever stopped anyone?" She laughed, moving her hair behind her ear. "You didn't ask but Alois and I have been together for about a month~" She dozed off, daydreaming. "He's so dreamy~"

I gagged jokingly. "When did you go from annoying lovestruck?" I sit up on the edge of my bed, facing Madeline. "And, who let you into my house?"
"Nobody, I sort of snuck in behind The Earl and his butler when they brought you home."
"Wait, what?"

At what had to be the most inconvenient moment, Alfred walks into the room with a tray that has biscuits and a cup of tea. "Good morning, mistress. It seems you have an unexpected guest." He nods, glaring at Madeline.
"And an unexpected guest must have an unexpected disappearance. Nice speaking with you, Abbie!" Madeline smiled as she unclipped the window and climbed onto the roof, slowly shutting the window.

"She's so spontaneus." I rolled my eyes and turned to Alfred. "Good morning, apologies for coming home late last night, sorry if you were concerned."
"It's quite alright, mistress. Once I was made aware that you were with the earl, I knew you were in good hands." Alfred places the tray on my bedside table. "It seems I was right, after all, he and Sebastian were the ones who brought you back to the manor. I overheard that there was some kind of situation?"
"Yes, but it's been settled now."
"So, are you sure you don't have feelings for the earl?" Alfred asked again, this time I wasn't so sure.

"Yes, I'm sure."
"Are you sure you won't have feelings for the earl?"
"Will it even matter?" I smiled as I grabbed a biscuit from the tray and took a small bite out of it.

"Make sure not to spoil your appetite, mistress," Alfred smirked. "You're having brunch with the earl this morning."
"You really must stop agreeing to things for me, Alfred." I teased, sipping my tea.

"This time it felt appropriate, it would've seemed rude to not have them over after they kept you safe last night."
"I suppose so, I will have to show him and Sebastian my gratitude when they arrive."

I get dressed quickly as I gracefully walked down the stairs. Alfred greeted me at the bottom of the stairs. "Mistress, Chef Jordan is baking you and the earl pancakes for breakfast with ice cream, he would like to know which flavour you would prefer."
"Tell him to surprise me." I smiled, Alfred nodded and headed off,

The doorbell rung, I suppose he's early. I answer the door swiftly.
"Good morning, Lady Abigail." Ciel gleamed as I opened the door. "You seem to have rested well."
"I'm forever grateful to you for not leaving me last night." I smiled softly. "Although it could've been handled better, last night was enjoyable, I'm not sure I can live up to the events of last night, though."

"I appreciate the gesture." He smiled as I let him and Sebastian inside.
"We're having pancakes this morning with a surprise ice cream flavour, Is that alright with you?"
"Why wouldn't it be?" He smiled, it almost seemed genuine.

We sat at the table as our butlers whispered to eachother.

"So, Ciel, when do you think the screwdrivers going to show up?"

"I still stand by what I said last night, it's probably just some stupid superstition."
"You aren't giving me much hope here." I sigh. "At least you seem a little less stuck up than last night."

"I was most likely tired, besides, you can't say anything, you passed out!"
"Perhaps, but you must have been seriously tired if you felt the need to bring me home." I chuckled softly

Ciel rolled his eyes and ignored my statement. "What on earth would we need a screwdriver for anyways?"
"Maybe out next adventure has loose screws?" I paused and shook my head. "no, nevermind, that's just stupid."

"No surprise there." He rolled his eyes once more. "But, I'm afraid I have more pressing matters to discuss with you."
"Enlighten me."
"You are aware of the situation including Lady Madeline and her current boyfriend Alois Trancy, I assume."
"Yes, Madeline spoke with me this morning. She seems happy, although I'm not sure how one could be happy in the presence of Alois." I sigh.

"The only problem is..." Ciel paused as he sighed. "Alois Trancy is dead. He has been for a very long time. However, somehow, he has returned."
