Lunch was over, all I could do was walk, my feet walked quickly toward my and Peter's bedroom while my mind was busy with unanswered questions.
I opened the wooden door and stepped into the room, stepping thoughtfully and not calmly until the wooden door opened, revealing to me Peter who was standing with a serious look on his face.
He makes his way to me and takes my hands in his hands.
His blue eyes stare into mine and I look down, remembering that I cant look him in the eye anymore.
"Why did you go out so fast?" He asks me and I let go of his touch.
"Why did you do it for me?" I ask.
"what do you mean by those words?" I lift my head and see the look I expected to see.
Those cramped eyes stare at me questioningly.
"You love me that much?" I ask and watch his expression change instantly.
-"I worry about you." He says clearly, these three words I didn't expect to hear, surprise me more that he didn't answer me in a reply similar to my question.
He grabs my hands just as my eyes start to walk around in the room.
"I see how bored you are, do you think I don't think about the moments when I'm supposed to meet with the ministers while you sit and watch the birds all alone?" He adds, "And how long can you watch these birds?" I listen to him quietly, "I saw that's what you missed, I realized that's what you missed when we got here."
"You miss this person who will be by your side and talk to you about the things you love, and I know that I will not always be there, as the emperor said." He brings my body closer to his body and I wrap my arms around him.
"Back to our palace, you don't have your ladies, I would be glad if Katharine was living with us but ..." As soon as I heard he was talking about Katherine, I raised my head with a smile to him and he began to laugh.
"I know how much you love her, but I thought of something less logical, in fact, that thought jumped into my head in the general's playroom."
My eyes lock on the floor, in my mind runs pictures from that evening and my heart beats.
"When I saw the deputy commander reading the same boring book you read, I realized that all you needed was someone to talk to, and at first I thought it was ridiculous, because he belong to his people, to army life, but my connection with the emperor is so close that he He hugged me this morning and told me I was like his youngest son. I was flattered, and when he agreed to my offer, I felt that I was the happiest. "
I clenched my jaw so as not to burst into tears.
I wanted to cry again, but instead of the tears, the words I had not expected to come out of me came out.
"Don't you think about what the citizens will say? Our people?"
Peter laughs in response.
- "He's your bodyguard."
"For God's sake ..."
"I don't remember anyone talking about Harold as my bodyguard." He keeps laughing,
"For Christ's sake, Peter, he's the deputy commander of the Korean Imperial Army!" the tone of my voice rises.
"He is the emperor's nephew, he wasn't supposed to serve in the army at all," he replies. "correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel that you don't really like him as I thought at first."
