"Calum Hood?" I look up from my mindless scrolling on my phone and face the over dressed lady typing away on her computer. Her name tag reads 'Ms. Brighton'

"Your schedule is ready, Have a Lakewood day!" Ms.Brighton says way too friendly for seven am. What the hell is even a 'Lakewood day'? Judging by the sweating and intimidating students, I guess not so great. I shuffle with my things and grab the schedule. The last thing I wanted to do was be late for class and have to come back here. I walk out of the empty office and into the hallway, when a particular blonde catches my eye. Luke. I haven't spoken to him since I utterly and completely embarrassed myself in front of him. I'm doing my best to forget... Trust me.

Is he trying to comfort me? "I mean... What I'm trying to say is... shit. Fuck, I don't know! I don't know a damn thing about love or what not, but what I do know is that you won't be sad forever Calum. I can assure you that." My heart races from the mere thought of Luke being the one to ease me of all this hardship, luke being the one to make me forget about James and my parents and everything and anything I will ever go through. I think of the smiling, happy Luke I've known these two days.. And then I snap out of it.

He looks at me as almost awaiting a response, and I feel my jeans tighten. Damn you, Luke. Damn you, and your pretty blue eyes and seducing lips. My eyes widen at the situation in my pants and Luke's eyes follow my glance. "Holy shit..." I hear him whisper and almost pass out again.

The ringing bell takes me out of misery, signaling the first class of the day. I scan my schedule and see that I have Trig in room 206, upstairs. Hoping that that bell was not the tardy bell, I sprint towards the stairs and zip up my backpack at the same time. There were a few kids like me, so I'm guessing I zoned out for a while. Halfway up the staircase another bell rang. Shit. I tiptoed my way up the empty school, knocking on the now locked door of room 206.

"I'm glad you decided to join us, Mr.Hood." A wrinkly man with an awkward mustache glared down at me as he opened up the door. I gave him my best attempt at a 'I was lost, please don't hurt me', which seemed to work as he allowed me to go inside. "I mapped out assigned seats so there will be no trouble makers paired in my room. Trigonometry is a required course for graduation and I suspect as much respect for the class as it deserves." He droned on and giggles followed his lengthy speech on why math is the best thing ever and we're all just a bunch of hooligans blah blah blah. I honestly stopped listening after he used the word 'nonpareil'.

"Umm... Mr. Carlisle, can I go to my seat now?" "Yes, Mr. Hood. Mia and David would you please raise your hands? Right next to those students, please." Mia goes here? Well that explains how she met Luke. I walk over to my new table mates and am somewhat happy to know someone. Even though she's dating my... friend? "And Mr. Hood? Try not to interrupt our learning tomorrow." Great. This is what I get for thinking about Luke for too often. " "Calum! Hey, I didn't know you went here", Mia half whispers to me. That makes two of us. "Um, yeah. I just moved here. That's how I know Luke." Her eyes lighten up at the mention of him and I have to resist rolling my eyes. "Yes, Luke. We have to talk. About him. Text me later?"

Why the hell does she want to talk to me about Luke? I barely know him...

"Sure?"
