After signing my contracts and being shown around the building, Andre decided to help me move my suitcases to my new apartment.
As I open the door of Andre's car, I look up at the house and I can't help myself from getting excited.
The house itself is on top of a small hill with beautiful, dark, wooden stairs leading up to a patio deck which has an amazing view of the city and a sunset behind it.
Across from the stairs on the patio is an arch made of the same wood with roses trailing throughout every loop and hole.
Beyond the arch, something glimmers that catches my attention and I lose myself to my curiosity so I set my suitcases down and step under it.
I look around and take in all the beauty.
The backyard has perfectly trimmed yet somehow lush grass that's the perfect shades of green. Outlining the yard, were tall, dark wooden fences with shrubbery in front of it. In the furthest corner from me is a small pond with lily pads which are blossoming under a small fountain.
I start walking towards the pond and I notice that there are some koi fish.
I sit down on the edge of the small wall, stick my hand in the water and watch as the curious swim towards my fingers and delicately tickle me.
I look up at the fountain and notice something that I didn't before.
At the top of the fountain, there are two different orchids growing and entwining together among some thorny vines that hang down into the water.
One orchid is white with dark purple stripes.
The other is blood red with white stripes.
The beauty in such opposite flowers of the same species entwining together had me mesmerized when Andre put a hand on my shoulder and made me flinch.
"Sonny, are you okay?"
I straighten myself, then stand. "Yeah. I'm fine. I was just, looking."
He nods then says, "Well, help me get your stuff."
I nod and I seem to find myself thinking about the orchids as I pick up my suitcases again and open the front door.
"SURPRISE!"
I drop my bags and step back as Zeke, Jeremy, and Nathan all step towards me and give me a group hug.
After they all pull back, they all look ecstatic but Nathan looks slightly curious.
The blond one steps forward and says, "I'm Jeremy Meiserlann. I'm the bassist. I'm also looking forward to working with you." He flashes me a toothy grin then steps back.
Then the ginger kid speaks up and says, "I'm Zeke Peterson. I'm the drummer. If you ever need to learn an instrument, I'm your guy."
I nod as the tan one with a sort of olive complexion and black hair steps forward.
"I'm Nathan Grigory. You can just call me Nate. If you need information, help, or a friend, just come to me."
Nathan extends his arm and shakes my hand. He looks at me curiously before saying, "The brooding one in the corner is Pierce Wilson but I'm assuming you already knew that."
Nathan steps back and together the three of them say, "Welcome home! We can't wait for you to live with us!"
I try to hide my shock when I say, "Me neither! I'm super psyched!"
Nathan lifts an eyebrow before saying, "Hey, Sonny, you have quite a few bags. Can I help you carry them up to your room?"
"Sure. Uhm, Nathan. I don't know where my room is. Can you show me?"
He nods as he grabs two of my bags and says, "Nate. And sure. Actually, we have three spare rooms you can choose from. There's one across the hall from the bathroom which is on the right of my room and on the left of Jeremy's, one is on the left of mine and right of Zeke's which is across the hall from Pierce's and the last one is in the attic. The first two have balconies with the room to the left. Take your pick."
As we're walking up the stairs, I make a decision.
"Nathan, I'd like the room in between your's and Jeremy's because it's across the hall from the bathroom."
He nods and leads me to my room.
when we get to my door, he opens it for me and gestures for me to walk in first.
