The Final Problem

THE FINAL PROBLEM!

The video ended. No clue as to where Moriarty was, or what he was planning to do.

"Well?" John asked, voice shaking, "Where is he?"

"Somewhere underground. The walls are covered in very dirty, mattress-like things, and there are yellow stains coming from the ceiling. I know exactly where he is."

"Where, daddy Sherlock?" Amanda and Gina asked in unison.

"The prison's closed, disused underground torture chambers."

Sherlock slipped on his coat and scarf, followed by John. They quickly asked Mrs. Hudson to watch the girls and they hailed a cab to the prison.

"Excuse us," Sherlock pushed through the gates to the prison while John quickly explained they were on a kidnapping case. Urgent business.

Sherlock quickly picked his way down into the underground chambers. At the end of the hall of chamber doors was a piece of lined paper with a drawn arrow on it taped to the wall.

"Guess it's this door then," John concluded.

Sherlock pushed open the door to find Moriarty sitting cross-legged at the end of the empty space, caressing baby Hamish.

Thankfully, he was unharmed.

"Oh, finally," Moriarty chimed, "Here you go."

Jim walked up and handed Hamish carefully to Sherlock, who instantly held him close.

"What..."

"I only took him to get you over here, Sherlock. I've been getting people killed for almost two years. Each time I left a hint as to where I was hiding, which was here all along. Guess my hints were too subtle, you never saw them."

"So, finally, you resort to stealing my son?!"

"Sorry," Jim made a face, "But I had to get you here. See, I have to talk to you."

"What?" Sherlock spat.

"You see, I...I want to...Help you."
