"Married?" John whispered, "Sherlock, are you mad?"
"Yes. No more hiding."
John cringed as he noticed Donovan and Anderson practically on the ground laughing.
"I want a proper proposal," John stated loudly.
"Not a chance."
"Fine. Yes, let's get married."
"Lovely!" Sherlock spun around, "Invite everyone!"
"Donovan won't come."
"I'll make her come."
John smiled evilly, looking at Donovan.
"Don't worry," she snickered, "I'll come."
Once back at the flat, John sat down on his chair.
"A thought just occurred to me."
"Hmm?"
"Who's walking down the aisle?"
Sherlock chuckled, "Sure as Hell not going to be me."
"Who says I want to?"
"Well, don't you have a white tux anyway? And you're shorter. You fit the bride role perfectly."
"Oh, fine."
"You can just begin the service standing next to me, and skip the walking part."
"Yeah, let's do that."
Someone knocked at the door.
This time, John opened first and found Lestrade standing there again.
"So," he began, "Who's planning the wedding?"
"We are. Leave us at peace, will you?"
Sherlock closed the door in Lestrade's face.
"Sherlock, what do you know about planning weddings?"
"Nothing, but this is no mere 'wedding'. This is OUR wedding."
"Oh, God..."
"Only the best baker in England shall make our cake!" Sherlock stated, throwing his fist in the air.
"Sherlock, we can't afford that..."
"We can't, but Mycroft can."
John rolled his eyes.
"You do realize," Sherlock said, seating himself on his chair across from John, "The only reason Donovan agreed to come so easy is because she wants to see us kiss."
"I know," John smirked, "What do you expect?"
"Come now," Sherlock stood up quickly, "You're tired. Let's watch the telly."
The detective grabbed John's arm and tugged him to the couch, where he draped one arm over the doctor's shoulders.
Sherlock turned on the News.
"Earlier this morning, Consulting Detective Sherlock Holmes solved a case against an anonymous threat, saving the life of Dr. John Watson. Here's some additional details."
The screen changed to Donovan standing outside the Ferris Wheel, ambulances and police cars behind her.
"Oh, no. Additional details from Donovan."
"Sherlock Holmes did two mildly surprising things today: First, he shot the villain to save John's life atop the 700-foot-tall Ferris Wheel, then, once on the ground, proposed to John Watson in a very Sherlock-like manner."
After saying this, she played the recording of Sherlock telling John to marry him.
"She recorded that?"
"Not surprising."
The pair heard gasps and squeals from the neighbours, and soon after heard a knock at the door.
"Don't answer that."
"Wasn't going to."
