''For hundreds and hundreds of years ago, the Sun and the Moon Goddesses decided that they needed a guardian over the wolves. So, they created werewolves, with one wolf side and one human side. I'm one of those, and my wolf's named Emight.''
I try my best to not laugh. Is this really how they think they're created? For real? This seems like Arí didn't want the werewolves to feel bad, so she gave them an epic story. It's kind of funny. But, if I was an experiment, I wouldn't like to know it either. I can't imagine how bad I would feel.
So instead of laughing, I just nod.
I don't know why I don't just say how it really is to Luke, probably because I feel bad, and don't want to crush his little perfect universe. I'll crush it later anyways. I think. At least partly. I haven't decided yet.
I check the clock on my phone again. It's starting to get late, and I need to head home. Mum might be waiting. And I really don't want to be scolded for being late without giving her a good reason, which I kind of can't give her.
Yeah, I was just kidnapped by some werewolves, sorry for being late. What's for dinner?
No, that would just make her face red and her hands to crawl into fists.
''If I don't want to be grounded, which I don't want, I think I need to get home now.'' I say, adding the 'think' to be polite and not completely rude.
Luke chuckles softly.
''I didn't know you could just walk away when you're kidnapped?'' he asks, as if it would be some kind of joke.
''That's why I asked you first.'' I say, not totally serious in my tone but not long from.
''You're not going anywhere if I don't want you to.'' He says, still like it would be some kind of joke.
I crack an eyebrow.
''Says who?''
''Says I.''
At this point, I feel the anger build up. It mixes with a little stress, since I know mum's coming home in 45 minutes, and I need to run home, before changing into something comfy so she thinks I've been home for ages.
''But, if you don't want a pain in the ass, you should probably let me go.'' I say, unfolding my knees and sitting up a little straighter.
''If you would get aggressive, you would get to know and see Emight, which could get kind of interesting.'' Luke says and leans on his elbows, still thinking this is some kind of joke.
''Luke, I don't think that it's a good idea to make her mad, she's kind of getting pissed...'' Emight tries.
I think he says so because he still can't put a finger on what I am. He don't want to challenge something that's bigger than him.
Smart pup.
''Okey, I can admit that she's cute when she's annoyed, but she doesn't seem like the type you mess with.'' he continues.
I'm so done here. I need to go now.
''You know what Luke?'' I say, actually standing up, receiving a smirk from Luke. ''I'm done here, and I'm going, even if you don't like it.''
''How are you supposed to do that? There are guards in the hole corridor, and you can't jump out through the window. You won't do that. Right?''
He seems to get unsure about himself when I turn on my heal and start to open up the window.
''You're just going to threaten me with jumping so that I'll let you out, aren't you? Well, that aren't going to work.''
I fix with the hasps of the window.
