Chapter 13 - A project worth showing
Taehyung and I have had this routine of playing video games most of the night together, since I have nowhere to go for another four days, so I can sleep in. I always ask if he should be asleep because he has a lot of work to do the next morning. But he always shrugs it off and kills me, in the game. Yoongi has ignored me since the day of the accident. I was hurt by it, but I didn't let it bother me too much. If this is what Yoongi wants, then I'll respect that. I was laying on the bed, playing around with a song I've been trying to write, when my phone starts ringing. I recognize the number as American and answer it.
"Hello?" I ask, sounding bored as I finish the lyric I was on.
"Ashley?" I hum in agreement. "Hi! This is Kyle from BBC news. I've had a few letters about you recently. You've become quite popular on your blog and YouTube account for your skills at singing and photography is that right?" I look up from my notebook and draw my eyebrows together in confusion.
"Yes, that's right." I say, skeptical.
"Perfect! Well my viewers would love to have some questions answered and I was hoping we could sit down in an interview." I frown.
"Well, I'm currently on a job at a location I can't quite leave whenever I want. If you want an interview I don't mind paying for you to come here. The only condition is that you can't tell anyone where I am. It's a secret that I can't open up to yet." I hear humming like he's tolling it over.
"You got a deal. Can we do this within the next few days?" I think it over, I can't actually go back to work for four days.
"Yes, if you get on a plane today I'll have an interview with you the day after tomorrow. I'll pay you whatever the expenses are."
"Sounds good! I'll see you in three days." I nod before ending the call. It's out of nowhere, but hopefully it's a good thing. Getting up from the bed, I get dressed, trying not to move as much as possible, most of the pain has gone away, but there is still some. I walk over to my dorm and get out my little keyboard. Playing the piano, in the way I envision the song to be played. Slow but steady. Simple, but complex. I listen for a wrong sound, an out of place key. And then I set up my tripod, put my phone on it, hit record. Recording I mess up quite a few times and had to restart. The Video ended up being half an hour long, and I had to go in and edit it. Selecting the portion of the video I want, I convert it into a file so I can edit the audio. Once I get it to sound the way I like it, I Take a video of the introduction of the song a post it with this;
I have an interview in three days, and I just started on my new song. Expect great things.
I was happy with how the piano sounded, and how the melody seemed to fit my lyrics. I got a lot of responses for it, and I couldn't help but be excited with them. Most of the comments were kind and supportive, but you always get the few rude comments. Closing my laptop, I get up and wobble to the kitchen, deciding that I'd make snacks for the boys for when they get home. My favorite snack to make was these caramel apple dumpling type snacks. They were fast, easy, and taste good. I hum my song to myself as I finish frying the little apple dumplings, bringing them over to a plate when they were done. Making sure I have everything I need I leave my dorm and hobble over to the boy's dorm. The boys were home a few minutes early and were happy to see the treats I had made for them. I told them about my interview, and they told me about their photoshoot today. I was happy for them, when they have fun it's nice to see.
Instead of playing games, I convinced Taehyung to just sleep with me. We started the night on opposite sides of the bed, a pillow fort between us. But when we woke up, we were completely tangled in each other. It was awkward sure, but what was even more awkward was the boys. They happened to wake up before us and were taking pictures and just going on about it. That'll never happen again. We quickly separated and couldn't make eye contact with each other or even be by each other without a large amount of awkwardness. The boys took off pretty early, so I spent the day packing up my stuff to move back into my dorm. My own bed again. I smile, hobbling down the hall with a small box of my belongings, opening my dorm room door and frowning. I haven't cleaned in here in a while, I need to. Once I got everything in my dorm again, I started to clean for the interview tomorrow. It wasn't long until a few of the boys came home, I could hear them down the hall and I just shake my head. I continue to dust, and open the window allowing fresh air to come in. I smiled this was one of my better days. The bruises from the accident have almost cleared up, now just a light blue/purple. I just hope I can get back to dancing here soon.
