Amora's POV

Today is the last day of January. At the end of every month, the school holds a pep rally.

"Have you heard what the theme for today's pep rally is?" I turn and ask Paris.

She shakes her head and we both turn to Zane.

He's staring straight ahead mouth wide open.

I turn my head and look through the doors into the gym where the pep rally is being held. I don't see anything that is exactly surprising and turn back to Zane.

"What's wrong with you?" I ask and he looks at me like he just saw heaven or hell.

"I just saw half of Christie's ass!" He whispers.

I almost choke and Paris can't even hold back her laughter.

Christie is a cheerleader who never wears enough clothing. Her string is also cut so she takes it as an "advantage" to get boys.

I don't know why though. There's no point. All she is doing is fighting fate.

"Are you surprised?" I hear Paris ask as we walk through the doors.

"No! But I wasn't expecting it!" This time he yells over the loud music.

Zane may be a guy but he is completely innocent. Yes, he may cuss but in his mind he is pure.

His mom works at the community church and his dad is good friends with the pastor. They are always volunteering at the church.

His parents are very strict in the faith so his innocence is still at a first-grade level.

"I think I'm scared for life," He says and we enter the gym.

And sure enough, there's Christie with super short "booty shorts" and her cheerleading top.

She is in the middle of the basketball court with seven other girls wearing the same outfits.

Right as Paris and I notice this we cover Zane's eyes before he could notice.

"What!?" He yells, "are there more?!" We laugh at his reaction.

"If we take our hands away you shouldn't look at the court if you do only look at the girls' faces okay?" I say into his ear.

He nods and we let him go.

"Jesus Christ!" He yells and turns around bringing his hands to his eyes.

Paris and I can tell he didn't listen to me and we lead him as he walks backward facing away from the court.

We find our seats and a few other friends join us.

After school, I'm walking to my car and I hear my name being called.

"Ray!" I turn around and see Laken running toward me. He transferred to my school last year.

He's a senior football player. Last year he found his soulmate when the football team went to state. He was playing against her school and she was in the crowds.

The game had to be abruptly stopped because she was running out on the field. She said that she noticed her string moving around a lot.

Then she said that she followed her string and saw it tied to his pinky.

He's naturally tanned with amazing hair and great muscles, so you would think he'd get a girl with similar attributes.

She would surprise you. She has big, round, rimmed glasses and brown short hair. She is mostly seen in the library and didn't have many friends before she met Laken.
