Chapter 6

Zoe's POV:

Time passed by. Alfie was the perfect boyfriend to me. When we weren't meeting up in town we were skyping. He would surprise me with flowers and kisses.

I told me him about my plans to move to Brighton at the start of 2014. Brighton is a beautiful town on the southern coast of England. I've always wanted to live there. I planned to get an apartment right beside the sea. At that time Alfie was sharing an apartment with Casper but he also planned to move to Brighton. It was all so exciting!

June was a busy month. Firstly Alfie, Jim and Tanya and myself went on a holiday to Mykonos in Greece. It was such a lovely holiday and because we don't have many subscribers in Greece we were able to relax and enjoy the holiday without worrying about being seen.

Then it was time to fly to Florida for the biggest event of the year on the YouTuber's calender- Vidcon 2013! I was so excited because every year Vidcon gets better and better. I really enjoyed it and it was amazing to meet so many of my fans but everywhere myself and Alfie went people screamed Zalfie at us and begged us to become official. We convinced everyone we were not a couple however little did we know that in less than a week our secret would be leaked and there would be no going back.

Alfie's POV:

Vidcon was crazy. It was so much fun! After we went back home to enjoy the rest of summer. Tyler Oakley and Troye Sivan came back with us for their annual visit to England. Jim, Tanya, Marcus, Tyler, Troye and myself stayed in the Sugg's house that weekend.

On the 7th August one small slip up by Jim gave the Zalfie fanatics the evidence they needed to conclude that we were cannon. He uploaded a vlog that evening. I remember it well. Everyone was just sitting back and chatting in the Sugg's living room. Jim began scrolling through the comments on his vlog. But then suddenly His hand and face froze.

'What's wrong Jim?' I asked.

'Emmm umm I think you better come see this'.

I peered over his shoulder as he scrolled through the masses of comments all going crazy about the exact same thing- Zoe's laptop background. At the end of the vlog Jim had filmed everyone in the living room. Zoe's laptop sat on the table behind him. It was opened up and you could clearly see her desktop background which was evidently a picture of Zoe and I kissing. Immediately Jim deleted the vlog, edited that bit out and re-uploaded it but it was too late. Some crazy girl had saved the video and re-uploaded it straight after he took it down. That was the end of our secret little relationship. There was no way we would ever get privacy again. Although neither of us were ready to tell everyone, it appeared we had no other choice.

Zoe's POV:

When I heard what had happened I burst into tears. Jim felt so bad but it was an honest mistake. It was my fault for leaving my laptop open on the table not his. When I think about it, it was amazing how long we managed to keep our relationship a secret-almost 5 whole months!! It was about time we let the public know but it was just too scary. The pressure of being the perfect, cute couple everyone presumed we would be was overwhelming. I did the only thing I could think of at the time.

I grabbed Tyler and yelled 'we gotta film the boyfriend tag right now!' So we went up to my room and filmed the boyfriend tag to take the pressure of Zalfie. It's not a secret that Tyler is gay so it was clearly just a joke but I hoped people would think that if I was going out with Alfie I wouldn't upload the boyfriend tag with someone else and therefore it might reduce suspicion. Or so I thought..
