Chapter 3- Marcus' Barbecue
Alfie's POV:
The sun beamed down. We were all in Marcus' back garden in his home in Brighton. We played a big game of football. Casper, Joe, Tanya and Myself against Marcus, Jim, Louise and Zoe. It was hilarious.
I had been really looking forward to seeing Zoe but I had to pull myself together. 'Zoe does not like you more than a friend. Do not mess things up' I repeated to myself and because of that I planned not to make any move to exit the friend zone.
Zoe's POV:
I got the train with Joe to Brighton to see all the gang at Marcus'. It was great fun. Things weren't awkward between me and Alfie as I had thought they might be. In fact it was just like how it always had been.
I convinced my self then and there that I was wrong... Alfie did not like me 'that way'. Guess that's the end of that I thought. We shall remain friends. I felt a tinge of embarrassment at that moment that I ever thought he would want to go out with me...and that I might want something to happen as well.
