august soon crept up behind the firey, red haired girl. most of her friends were gone the day after graduation leaving her, her boyfriend, ruby, and diana. the four spent their remaining days together before they had to seperate. they also celebrated anne's birthday. first ruby left, then diana a few weeks later. it was just anne and gilbert for the next few weeks. in those few weeks, they got their apartment and everything settled. they were now packing their car for their long trip. anne said her goodbyes to marilla and matthew, then they were on their way. just before they were about to leave avonlea, anne made gilbert stop the car. "it'll be super quick, i promise." she hopped out of the car and ran into the field of flowers. the sun hit her freckled face as she picked some flowers. gilbert beeped, signalling it was time to go. anne took a deep breath of the warm, fresh air that avonlea had to offer. "goodbye, old friend. see you soon." looking back she could see the rooftop of the barn at green gables. "goodbye my sweet home. we'll be back before you know it." hopping in the car with her fresh picked flowers, she smiled at her loving boyfriend. "i'm ready." he smiled and began the drive. sticking her head out of the window, she laughed just like the first day she arrived in her sweet town.
