I don't hear the voices in my head anymore. It's all black but peaceful.
"Aquarius?"
Ugh..the voice is back.
"Can you hear me?"
At least it's not as brutal.
"Get me the flashlight please."
Flashlight? What flashlight?
A blinding light shines in my eyes. I move my hand up to block it.
"Oh good! She's awake."
"Huh?"
I look at my surroundings, being extremely confused.
"Thank goodness you're still here, miss." A middle-aged lady wearing a white jacket sits in front of me. "We could have lost you today."
"Where am I?" I ask, very confused.
The lady sighs, looking very tired.
"You tried to commit suicide. A nice young man saved you just in time."
No! It didn't work! Who saved me? "Why am I here?" I ask.
"You blacked out due to stress. You're lucky that that was all that happened." The lady explains. "You're in the hospital now."
"So what happens now?" I say.
"Well, we will be sending you back to live with your mother-"
"No!" I interrupt. "Why?! Please, don't make me go back!"
The nurse gets caught off guard, but regains her composure.
"Um...well. Your mother is the closest family you have, and it will help you heal your mental state so this will not happen in the future."
I can't believe it. After moving out for only 8 months, I have to go back.
"We will also be sending you to a psychologist, to help you. With time, you will heal."
Then there's a knock at the door. The nurse goes to open it. She pokes her head out the door.
"Hello. Sorry, but I have a patient in, so may you-oh. Really? Okay, bring him in."
She looks back inside.
"Miss? Someone is here to see you."
She pokes her head back out the door.
"Send him in."
Who would be here to see me? Lizzy? My mother? Oh no, maybe. I hope not.
The nurse walks out, and Caden comes in.
"Aquarius. Hey." He says.
I stare.
"How are you doing?"
I stare.
Caden stares, waiting for an answer.
"Did you save me?" I ask.
"Yeah. You pushed yourself off the fence, and I caught your arm just in time. Other people also ran to help me save you." He replies.
I stare some more.
"Why?" I ask.
"Huh?"
"Why did you save me?" I ask again.
"Because we're friends. If you saw me try to jump off a bridge, you would've tried to save me too, wouldn't you?" Caden responds.
I nod my head.
"You know," Caden says, "Lizzy and her friends are just dumb. You know she was only saying those things to make herself feel better, right? You didn't have to-"
"No." I interrupt. "It's not because of that. You don't know why. You have no idea what I've been through."
Caden looks a little surprised at my blunt response, but his facial expression quickly reverts back to being calm.
"Okay. Sorry. I know it's probably because you got rejected by Markus. I just.." Caden sighs and runs his hand through his hair. "I don't understand how it's so bad."
"Well, you constantly get criticized by yourself. You just want to end the pain." I pause because I have no other explanation.
"But...how-what..?" Caden tries to search for a better explanation, but I can't give one. "Okay then..I guess I'll hopefully never know."
"Hopefully." I look down.
"Anyways," Caden breaks the silence. "I can drive you back to your house so you can move your stuff to your mother's house..if you want."
A knock at the door stops me from responding.
The nurse pops her head in the room.
"Miss? A driver sent by Mr. Jason Levitt is here to pick you up."
"Oh, uh, well..I guess I'll have to pass on that offer. I'll see you later, Caden." I say.
"Oh, okay. Bye, Aquarius. Take care." Caden says.
The nurse quickly re-enters the room, and hands me a paper.
"We will be assigning a psychologist to you. Your next appointment will be two days from now, all the information is there." The nurse points to the paper. "Call us if there are any emergencies, again our phone number is on the paper."
I say goodbye, and hop in the car to my mother's house.
* * *
When I arrive, I ring the doorbell, and a little tune starts to play.
A man that is dressed in formal attire greets me at the door.
"Come in, Miss Aquarius."
The house is as I remember it. Black and white furniture, and a grand staircase.
"Oh. You're here, Aquarius." My mother comes down the staircase as she spots me. "Hurry up, or I'm going be late for my five hundred dollar facial."
My mother quickly shows me my room, and tells me not to go in her and Jason's room, or Jason's office. She also explained how she couldn't go in Jason's office either. Then she gets in her limousine, and drives off.
Immediately when I re-enter my room, my phone's ringer goes off.
