Radio sat on top of one of the old cars the killjoys now used for spare parts. She was fuming. Anger mixed with confusion and anxiety was flooding her mind. Of course, the last thing she wanted to do was be left alone with her emotions, but being with Ghoul or Party would only make things more confusing at that point.

She banged her fist down on the hood of the car, bruising her hand. "Dammit," she cursed under breath, rubbing her fist. Radio didn't understand how two of the people she loved most could be so careless... senseless...

She pulled one of her pill bottles out of her bag, desperate to stop the anxiety. But her shaky hands were too much, and she threw the bottle into the dust, unopened.

The thoughts running through her head started to make her panic, and her breathing became erratic as she was snapped into another memory.

--------------------

"Shit!" Gemma cursed as she ran, limping heavily on her left leg. She was chased by ten dracs following on foot and they were gaining fast. "Fucking hell-" she cursed, before tripping and falling hard on her already injured knee.

She scrambled back up, pulling her blaster out of its holster on her thigh, pointing it and shooting haphazardly at the dracs.

"Get away from me you fucking bastards!" She yelled at she managed to shoot down two dracs with her shaky aim. The rest of the dracs closed in, encircling her, their own blasters drawn.

"HEY ASSHOLES! OVER HERE!" A voice yelled from a a few yards away. "PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE!" The dracs turned, distracted, and Gemma felt herself hauled up by the waist and dragged away by her hand.

She looked up to see a boy with striking red hair dragging her towards an old, rusted Trans AM.

--------------------

"No no no no no," Radio whispered to herself, clutching her head as she rocked back and forth and she pulled at her hair. "I can't... I can't do this... not now.. please..." she sobbed as anxiety crushed her. "Please, please, please!"

Her whole body shook. She couldn't think. She couldn't speak. All she saw were the awful images of her past flashing over, and over, and over again in front of her eyes. She saw the city, her parents, her bullies. Every bad memory she had played over and over in her mind.

"Help... I can't... please..." she continued to cry as the tears came, unending. "I'm not okay... I'm not okay..." She lay down on the hood of the car and curled her body into a ball. She couldn't stop the tears.

--------------

Gemma was confused. Who was this boy? He had striking red hair, and hazel eyes, paired with a smirk that she would be surprised if it ever faded.

"Hurry up!" The boy called over his shoulder, still practically dragging Gemma behind him. "We're almost there!"

Before she could respond and ask what was going on, one of the remaining dracs managed to get a lucky shot at her calf and she went down.

"Shit!" The boy yelled, clearly panicked. He fumbled for a moment, conflicted, before shaking his head and picking up the girl in his arms and started running again.

They made it to the car, and the boy climbed in, laying the girl across his lap and the back seat.

"Go, you idiot!" He called to whoever was in the front seat. "Hit the gas, Kobra!"

The girl mumbled something incoherent, and the boy looked down at her, brushing her hair out of her face.

"It's okay, you'll be fine," he promised. "Everything is gonna be fine."

-------------

Frank kicked another piece of scrap metal as he reached the outskirts of the junkyard. He had wondered this way after he had left the diner.

"How could I have been so fucking heartless?" He cursed himself. "She probably hates me know. God I am so fucking stupid."

He turned the corner and that's when he saw Radio crying on the hood of the car. He raced over to her and tried to calm her.

"Sunshine? Oh my god," he whispered. "Are you okay? Calm down. Listen to me. You're here. You're with me."

Radio looked at him but her eyes were far away. "I can't. I need to go. I need to keep moving. They'll find me," she screamed as she tried to break away from Frank's embrace. "They're coming!! I have to leave!!"

Frank held onto Radio, pressing her into him. "Angel, please, it's me Frank. Sunshine, listen to me. Listen to my voice. I'm right here. I'm not leaving you. I will never leave you," Ghoul swore as he tried to get through to the broken girl in his arms.

"Frank," the girl whispered. "I need to go. They're coming... they'll be here any minute." Again Radio tried to break away but only weakly. Frank just held her closer, crying himself as he watched her like this.

"Shhh... I'm right here Sunshine. No one is going to hurt you," Frank promised again, patting the girl's hair down "I'll protect you. I love you, Sunshine."

"Frank..." girl whispered again. "I need you. Please don't leave me. I don't want to be alone... not again.

"Never," he said as Radio grew limp against him, drained from her panic. He brushed the hair out of her face and sighed. "Sleep well, Sunshine."
