Getting hold of the elusive top floor was a piece of cake for Sasha. She wasn't altogether fond of using her fame in order to obtain such things, but if it meant that they all got to have a good night out together...then it was okay.
She arranged the meet-up with Toshi- that is to say, he insisted on picking her up with his car- and then she went to procure a bath and select an evening dress.
She kept it simple, in the end, opting for a classic black number that was off-the-shoulder and made of velvet.
A pair of black heels, a small jewellery set...done.
Toshi discovered that he did own a black suit after all, and managed to get it dry in time after giving it a much-needed wash. It had seen the depths of his wardrobe for far too long. He'd not got a great tie, though; the only regular-styled one that he had was an awful shade of green, so he instead chose to go for a red bow-type that was much easier to put on.
As they all met inside their room, it was discovered that Aizawa also possessed a perfectly-decent black suit.
There was no tie, though...and he'd kept the bandages."...you love those things way too much." Midnight said.
"I have no tie." Came the reply. "I also arranged them to look much neater than usual...not that you'd noticed."
True, actually, they did all seem to sit around his neck and shoulders in an orderly fashion instead of looking like their usual ragged heap of spaghetti.
"This is as close to effort as I get." He added.
"I guess it'll do." Midnight smiled. She looked stupendous, compared to the other three heroes. Her body was squeezed into a quite-short minidress that was a bright violet colour, and it sported a plunging neckline that revealed a generous amount of her assets. She still wore her eye mask, and her wealth of long, black hair shone under the room's lights. She definitely drew the eye of their waiter.
They all started out with a selection of spring rolls containing various fillings, and made good progress on some wine.
"What are these little doors for?" Midnight then said with her mouth full as she pointed to them. They were in the precise centre of the left-hand wall, looking very inviting.
"Oh, it's probably a balcony." Toshi said. "All the buildings along here have one. It'll be quite a view."
"Really? Wow! I'm gonna go see!"Indeed, it was definitely a balcony and those doors revealed a strip to walk on that was bordered by a wrought iron fence. Beyond that lay the fantastic sea of sparkling jewels that was Tokyo at night, against a now-dark sky.
"This is beautiful." She enthused. "Come see, Aizawa."
He sighed. "Do I have to? I know what it looks like."
"Trust me, it looks even better right now."
"Might as well humour her." Toshi sympathised. "She'll never shut up about it if you don't."
Knowing that to be true, Aizawa got up and took his wine glass of the moment with him.
"Will you wanna see it sometime too?" He then asked Sasha. "I like looking at stuff like that. It's peaceful."
"Sure." She smiled. "Same here."
"By the way, you..." He gestured at her dress. "Wow."
"Oh! It's nothin' special, really, I'm not one for going over the top with clothes at formal events."
"Don't need to." He told her. "You're perfect as you are."
"...thanks." She smiled warmly. "You look great too."
"I can't remember the last time I wore this. Not got the right tie, though, this was all I could find."
"It's got personality. Suits you."
"Heh." He grinned. "Thanks.""Reckon they've broken the ice yet?" Midnight murmured as she leant on the railing next to Aizawa.
"If he hasn't by now, he's hopeless." He replied. "So you think the same as I, then? That there's something there?"
"There's somethin', alright." She giggled. "It's kinda like...how can I describe it..."
"You don't. You're shit at that sort of thing."
"I am not shit, I'm just...unique." She nodded. "Yeah."
"Would you agree with the thought that he's been rather more lively since she first appeared?"
Good question; Midnight thought about it for a moment.
"...y'know what, I think you're right- he has. It's like he's been given a second life or something, he's almost back to how he used to be before he retired."
"I thought so too. They'll both deny it, of course."
"Oh yeah, sure they will." She grinned. "It's so cute to see 'em both flounder and blush like that, hee hee!" She then thought of something. "Maybe you and I could...y'know..."
