"The faster you settle down, the sooner I can give you answers." Aizawa said not long after being confronted with several questions after entering the Homeroom.
That got them seated, at least, and then Aizawa began to explain the situation to Class 1-A using the brief that he'd received from Nezu minutes before.
"This is as much information as we have right now, and as I'm never fond of repeating myself I'd advise you to listen carefully and not interrupt." Brief pause. "A Police investigation is currently underway to determine who attacked Midoriya yesterday afternoon. Some of you may be questioned, and I'd advise you all to answer as best you can. Midoriya is recovering in Hospital, and his condition is stable and not life-threatening. At this time, no student within this school is under suspicion of being his attacker. It would therefore be a disciplinary offence to assume otherwise, as well as to accuse anyone or ask them too many questions. All Might and Minari are helping the Police with their enquiries, and are not able to answer questions either. Once we have any updates, we shall let you know. That is all.""Sir!" Kirishima raised a hand. "Is the school under attack again, and can we do anythin' to help?"
"We have no idea if it's been done by a criminal or not." Aizawa said. "The investigation only just began today. Your best course of action would be to carry on as normal so that the school runs smoothly, and report anything suspicious to the nearest teacher. Undertaking anything yourselves is currently not advised as there's no more clues yet."
"Can we go and visit him?" Ochako then asked.
"You can, but as he's still recovering it's preferred that you go there in small groups of up to three people, and only after checking with the Hospital visiting list first. There'll be a shorter, written lesson today and class will finish early in case any of you wish to go, but regular lessons will then be in operation from tomorrow onwards."
"When will he be able to come back?" Tsuya asked.
"Hopefully in a few days or so. That's our current best estimate, and Recovery Girl is also helping him." Aizawa then stood up. "Your lesson begins in twenty minutes."
He then left, and the class fell into huddled murmurs."...I still can't believe it." Ochako said sadly. "If only we'd insisted on him coming with us!"
"We weren't to know." Tenya mused. "If we'd have been with him, we could have been badly injured too. All we can do is visit him later and wish him a speedy recovery."
"And hope that they catch the bastard that did this."
"...yes. That too." He then thought of something, and reached for his phone. "Let's get on that waiting list."
"Good idea!" She smiled. "Yes, we have to be the very first ones to go and see him. I'm gonna send him a good luck message from us with lots of kisses." She began at once.
It looked as though everyone in the class was doing the same thing, sending Izuku a fond text as well as grouping up to try and visit him in Hospital after lesson time had ended.
Katsuki viewed it all with the usual distaste and resentment, but chose to remain silent about it.
"Hey, man," Kirishima asked him, "are you gonna go?"
"Why the hell should I?" Katsuki spat. "I'm the last person that he'll wanna see, I got better things to do."
"That's exactly why, bro. It'll mean more, right?"
"Piss off, period hair." He grumbled.
Thankfully, he was left alone after that. He was not going.Later on in the day and during an extended lunch break, the interviews got underway. Naomasa began with Ochako and then moved to Tenya, and all the interviews were watched by Sasha, Toshi and Aizawa in one of the Control Rooms.
The two students gave exactly the same story; they'd had a burger and chat with Izuku not long before heading home with him, and they'd then seen him heading away to a nearby Bar with Katsuki after he'd wanted a drink with him.
They both expressed deep regret at not having persuaded Izuku to get on the train with them instead, and they didn't have a clue about anyone else nearby at the time. They also both mentioned that they were first on the visiting list, and both asked for more news on Izuku's condition.
"Anyone will be a rich man, if they have friends such as these." Aizawa remarked after seeing both interviews.
Sasha smiled. "That's very poetic of you. Beautiful, too."
"I merely speak the truth." He shrugged. "Whether it's pretty or not depends on the listener."
"Heh, that's more like it." Toshi chuckled. "Well, I can't see any problems here. They're model witnesses."
"You know as well as I do that we're only really here for the next interview." Aizawa stated. "That's the crucial one."

FanficToshinori Yagi was pretty used to this 'retirement' thing, for the most part. He still had plenty to do, friends to hang out with and his old teaching buddies to visit. He also checked-in on the classes, too, he'd never forget those. But even though...
