Chapter 9

~Lily's POV~

I can't believe Gabe decided to move here for me! It felt amazing to see him again, but I could tell by the look on Cole's face he was getting mad, and fast. I knew it especially made him mad because he interrupted our moment. I could hear the jealousy laced in his voice when he said hi to Gabe.

"So where are you going to be living?" I asked Gabe.

"A development not to far from here. Maybe about 20 minutes away. I was going to move to the one next door to your house but I guess somebody bought it before I did." Gabe said with a slight smile.

"That would be my family. We bought the house." Coke spoke coldly. I don't think he knew I noticed, but I did. I'm pretty sure Gabe did too.

"And who might you be?" Gabe asked, with a smirk.

"I'm Cole." Cole spoke.

"What are you her friend? Boyfriend?" Gabe questioned.

"Her... friend." Cole seemed hesitant to answer the question. I don't think either of us knew what we were.

"Okay well I won't just be her friend for long so do you mind if Lily and I have some time to catch up? Alone." Gabe said, a smirk presented on his face. I was shocked he would say something like that and Cole didn't like it, at all. Cole started to tense up, his jealousy was starting to become hard to contain. I knew I had to step in and do something.

"Actually Gabe, Cole and I were in the middle of something and I want to get back to it." I turned back at him and winked. He immediately calmed down.

"I will catch up with you later though, on the phone of course." I finished. Gabe looked pissed that I would choose Cole over him, but I didn't care.

"Okay, just make sure to save some special time for me." Gabe said with a wink. He hugged me tightly and grabbed my ass with one hand. He then rushed out the door before I had time to react. I turned towards Cole and he was pissed.

"Who the fuck was that? And why the hell would he say that you guys aren't just gonna be friends for long and grab your ass." Cole spoke, anger laced with his voice.

"I honestly don't know, he was my best friend after you moved. I didn't know he was still flirty like that but I swear I don't know why he would say or do that. I don't like him like that, I promise and I'll sort this out with him later." I reassured him. His anger calmed and I pulled him into a tight hug.

"Good because I don't know what I would do without you." He whispered into my ear.

I looked up at him and smiled, as he did the same. He grabbed my face and pulled me into a passionate kiss.

"How about I take you upstairs so we can finish what we started?" Cole whispered in my ear.

I nodded my head with a smile and we both laughed. He picked me up so my legs were tightly wrapped around his waist. He held under my butt for support. He carried me upstairs and into my bedroom and dropped me onto the bed and i got comfortable as I stared in awe as he took off his shirt. He then hovered over top of me and kissed me, his one hand feeling all over my body. He tugged at the waist of my pants, signaling to take them off but I ignored it. He did again, and again, and again. That's when he finally pulled away.

"Am I missing something here? I thought you wanted to do this." Cole asked, hurt peaking through his eyes.

"I do I just can't take my clothes off." I explained, avoiding eye contact.

"Why, lily? You have nothing to hide from me what's wrong?" He asked, putting his hand under my chin and lifting my hard so I was now looking into his eyes.

"Fine, but I'll only show you really quick and you can't say anything to anyone." I said, doubting if I should do this.

"Okay, I won't I promise." Cole spoke.

I took off my shirt, up and down my wrists he could see the cuts I usually covered up. He looked at them with care, he kissed each and every one of them gently. Then, I took off my pants, I really wasn't prepared for him to see this, but there was no turning back. After the we're off his eyes sunk. The happiness they were filled with flooded out. He saw the fresh cuts.

"No." Cole muttered.

"I'm sorry. Everything happened all so quick with my parents and this is the only way I knew how to deal with the pain."  I started to tear up, my eyes started watering, as did his. 

"Lily." Cole spoke, he turned my attention towards him. I could see his eyes water.

"Don't ever hurt yourself again. You don't need to go through this alone. You have me. Whenever you're thinking about this call me, text me, or I'll come over I'm right next door. Just please never do this again, I care too much about you." A tear slid down his cheek, i nodded in agreement.  He engulfed me into a tight hug and kissed my head. For the first time in a long time. I felt completely and utterly safe.
