-Cole's Point of view-
I walked downstairs, highly annoyed that the doorbell had to ring at that moment. I walked through the hallway picturing who could be at the door since I knew Lily wasn't expecting anyone. I opened the door to find a tall, Hispanic boy, seemingly our age.
"May I help you?" I asked the boy politely.
"Is Lily here?" He asked, looking around the small bit of the house he could see from the doorway and almost completely ignoring my presence.
"Why? What do you need, I can take a message." I told him, forcing his attention to turn back to me. He looked , clearly very annoyed and pissed off at me.
"No, I have to see her. So can you please tell me where she is?" He asked, being polite to mask his annoyance and anger. I eyed him for a second, determining if I should call Lily down or not. I wasn't going to but I knew the right thing to do was to call her down.
"Lily?" I called yelling loud enough so she could hear, but not taking my eyes off the boy.
After I called I could hear footsteps coming down the star, and then walking to the main entrance. She was standing a couple feet away from the door, watching feet as she walked. She then looked up, the small smile he had worn on her face was gone. Her face was now overcome with shock, her body was now frozen the only movement you could notice was her chest moving up and down with each breath she took. I was beyond confused at the moment. The boy at the doorway had now grown a huge smile as he saw her. Next thing you know, the boy and Lily rush towards each other. Lily jumped up and wrapped her legs around his waist, his hands now under Lily's butt for support. Jealousy was now rising in me, then I saw how big Lily's smile was as the hugged so i tried to keep my jealousy contained. They hugged for 5 minutes, although, to me, it seemed as if they hugged forever. When they pulled apart the boy carefully placed Lily on the floor.
"I can't believe! What are you doing here?" Lily asked, her smile growing even bigger which was something I didn't think was possible.
"I'm here for you. After I heard what happened, I decided to come up and live to help you get through your last year at Brentwood. Since, I know how much your parents were involved in the school. And by the way, we have tons of catching up to do. You look so much different, even more beautiful than you were when you were 8." The boy said laughing at the last part.
"Well that's what happens when you spend 9 years away from someone." Lily said, letting out her adorable little laugh. I was so jealous, but I didn't want to ruin her moment with whoever this kid is. Lily had finally looked over at me, realizing I had no idea who the boy was.
"Oh, Cole this is my old friend, Gabe. Gabe, this is my friend, Cole." Lily said, introducing us.
'Friend?' That's when it dawned on me I haven't asked her to be my girlfriend. Honestly, I didn't even know what we were at the moment so I guess the term 'friend' was the appropriate term for the situation, but it still hurt.
"Hi." I said coldly, I doubt Lily noticed since she was caught up with Gabe. I tried to shake it off but it was hard.
