Dizzy and Goth ran up to me in the hallway as I walked to my next class.

"Did you seriously ditch us for Uma, of all people?," Goth glared at me.

I looked at her in confusion, my usually arched eyebrows furrowing.

"Goth, all I did was sit next to her. It's called basic human kindness, and it's kind of what the whole class was about. Maybe you should try it," I replied.

"Are you saying I'm not a kind person?," Goth accused.

"I'm saying that the little joke you two pulled on her with Calahan wasn't kind. And with your schemes, I have a hunch you were the ringleader, Goth."

"I haven't the slightest idea what you're talking about."

"Nice acting. Maybe you can use it for good instead of evil."

Dizzy threw her hands into the air, "Good instead of evil? Clarissa, Uma had Harry steal from me!"

"And this is your revenge? How does that make you any better than she is?," I persisted.

"You say that as if we've been raised to be good," Goth retorted.

I hadn't the slightest idea how to answer that (further proof that I lacked the diplomacy of a future queen) so I decided not to try.

"I have to get to my next class, but I'll see you tonight in our dorm room," I dictated.

I quickly ducked into Dragon Anatomy, leaving them behind like one of them had almost done to me.
