I began to walk into Enchanted Oceanography, but Calahan, to my shock, quickly grabbed me by my neck and whisked me into a tiny unisex bathroom stall. With a deep sigh, he stole my poncho off of me and used it to tie the lock permanently shut.

We were both trapped.

I strode up to him in violent stomps and punched him in the stomach.

"What in Maleficent's name are you doing?," we reacted at the same time.

"You just choked me, made me miss class on my first day here, took off my clothes, and trapped me in here! Who in the world do you think you ARE, you cruel little creep?"

"Clarissa, I am asking you that question."

Calahan banged his ghostly pale head against the wall.

"Poor naive princess. I'm telling you not to set yourself up for failure. I'm showing you how this world and this life truly works- how I see and know it."

He hung his head low to the polished floor, with his cold blue eyes cast down and his tendrils of platinum hair hanging like stalactites.

He couldn't even look at me, and as he started to speak, his dry, nonchalant bad-boy facade wavered for the first time. His voice trembled, and he spoke in low tones, not daring to speak up.

"Clarissa, I'm telling you you'll never be a queen."
