They began their journey down the road B looks over the freshly killed bodies of the dead that Mason just shot down moments earlier. Her mind starts to wander as she thinks about how these were once people with feelings and thoughts, but now they're just a fairy tale that somehow came to life. B thought that was one of her down falls.  She knew they were dead, but she also knew that they were not "people" in the same sense as she was. B also believed that killing them is the right thing to do they deserve to rest in peace. Whatever caused them to come back made sure that they were pure evil.

She looks away from the dead body's saying a silent prayer for them. She had to remember that they once were alive and breathing, Like her they once had a home with friends and family. B has been on six runs, three a month and all six runs she was lucky enough to never seen someone during the change, but she had seen people turn on each other and that to her is just as bad. B, of course, knew Ethan could not handle going off the property. Not because she thought he was weak, but because she believed he still didn't understand that this is what the world is now, and Of course he had seen the dead rise. He had also seen his family dead something that traumatic you block out. You erase it.

Stepping back into reality B notices she was lagging behind Marty, who was jogging easily Along the road. His backpack going up and down with every step. B Stood still looking at the man with big muscles and a hard physique. Then she remembered it's not safe to stop and it's never okay to fall behind. And if she ever ran into trouble he would have to go back for her as said in rule one "never leave a man behind" so if she's getting attacked by the dead he would have to put himself in danger to go back and get her. But there was always the chance of him going back and saying that she was already dead.

B shakes off the bad thoughts that entered her mind, and begins to jog after him catching up with a few long strides. They both know not to run out of breath to fast. First of all if they run into a pack of them they couldn't ever out run them even though the dead are slow they have a steady pace and never get winded.

"What's the plan? You kill while I stack up on supply's?" B asks jokingly as they pass an old bus station a few blocks from the heart of the town. Marty seemed to not have a sense of humor, but that still didn't stop B from trying to lighted the mood. One thing that they both noticed is that once the supply does run out then what are they going to do?

"You should have let me come alone I would be back in five minutes top," he replied with a cruel voice. One that reminded B of Oscar the grouch.

"You might need backup what if one of them came up from behind?" She questioned but he gave no reply.  Marty and B both knew going anywhere alone was just signing their death certificate.

As they walk down the road, they don't run into anyone one dead or alive. B who was paranoid and had the right to be still could not shake off a feeling of unease. Every time they went out of those gates it was like they were being watched by some evil eye that always knew where they were.

This was the worst part of going anywhere B thought that road's that contained alleyways and dark secret passages that led off the main road was so sketchy even before the dead took over. She would always look down the path in fear of getting robbed or eaten by the sicko's and lamebrain's that roam the earth.

The winding roads that lead to the store were littered with empty cars that have been searched through many times. The body's that laid scattered were no longer moving but instead were decomposing the way they should be. the smell of the rotting bodies made their way to the pair making them cover their nose in disgust, but that didn't stop her from remembering every kill of the lifeless body's that lie around her. She didn't know any of their names or backgrounds. That's the only thing that made her sad about killing the dead. B believed that they deserved better than to be random corpse that just lay upon the ground. That each one of them did not deserve to be dead. Not like this anyway.

The grocery store stood only a few blocks from them when they heard a gargling noise followed up by crying coming from one of the building on their left. It was an old apartment building a few stories high. B looked up thinking that a Lamebrain got in somewhere and got suck, but to her dismay it wasn't just a dead man looking for food but rather people, real live people!

"Look!" B exclaimed pointing to the top floor where a woman holding a baby stood on the balcony keeping a zombie at bay with the end of a shot gun. The woman was struggling against the dead man that was so desperately reaching out in hopes of getting a meal.

"We have to help them!" B looks over at Marty, who was as shocked has B to see a person. As he continues to stare up looking at the baby and that strange women B heads to the front doors of the apartment building a big mistake on her part as there could be more inside. But before she can get to them she fills a yank on her clothes that pulls her back and makes her land on the cold cement below.
"Don't be stupid!" she hears above, and she realizes that it was Marty, who pulled her down, and not some dead man looking for a snack.

Marty grabbed a gun from the back of his pants aiming at the zombie and shoots. A shot rings out and almost immediately a voice is asking questions over the Walkie-talkie. Wondering what was happening and who made the shot. Guns were for emergency because the dead seem to be able to hear extremely well but not see that good.

B picks herself up and runs back over to grab the device from his backpack to answer. Her voice shaking from adrenaline as well as her hands.

"A woman and her baby do we have permission to get them?" she asked looking up at the pair and making eye contact with the women as she was looking down at Marty and B. There was not a sound on the other end for a few seconds but eventually she hears a click and then a reply.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" the women's voice is rough like she hasn't had water in years she shouted from the third floor, Making Marty and B wince as they knew more zombies could be making their way down to them at that very moment.

" There's a fire escape," Marty replies has he takes the walkie-talkie out of B's hands while giving her the look that let B know he was mad at her now. She knew that there was no way of getting out of this, but she had a soft spot for the people that was left in this world and it didn't hurt that it was another woman. The first women she has seen since the world went to shit.

"Will you shut up? And the baby as well," Marty however did not have a soft spot for people even if it was the second women either of them had seen. He seems to not care for whether they came across the pair, but he did what he was told to do and began thinking of a way to get them to safety.
"Can you climb down the fire exit?" Marty asked as B went around the building to see if there was another way in, and to her surprise there was but it being occupied but a mob of dead people coming her way as they spilled out from street corners. Her heart began to palpitate at the sight in front of her. She had never seen so many walking dead people in her life! She loses all her senses, but they return quick at the thought of the others that were just around the corner not knowing of the dangers that are only moments away.

B turns and runs to the other side of the building all the hair on her body sticking straight up at the sight in front of her. Marty was laying on the ground the baby thrown aside and it mother on top of Marty. Her eyes were blood shot, and she looked crazed. The cries of the baby were almost masked by the moans and growls that were just behind them.

B turns and runs to the other side of the building all the hair on her body sticking straight up at the sight in front of her. everywhere she seemed to turn was a sight of pure horror. Marty was laying on the ground the women on top of him, her eyes were blood shot, and she was screeching like mad man. The cries of the baby were almost masked by the moans and growls that were just behind. Just as they came around the building.

B springs into action taking her knife sticking it in the side of the women head immediately making blood cover her hand as she twisted and pulled the blade out, blood squirted from the women temples then she fell dead on top of Marty who pushed her from him. Marty and B gave each other looks of confusion not knowing what either of them just saw or what just happened, but both knew something was wrong.

"We need to go NOW!" B stated her voice filled with fear. Marty got up and grabbed his bag that was a few feet away just as the dead started pushing their way toward them. They both took off sprinting in the opposite direction of the walking corpse's but then B heard something that she can't leave behind. She felt a curtain of dread fall over her body and all the blood ran straight out of her face making her as white as a ghost.

She turned around and began running back to the building and made an abrupt stop where she just stood there looking around at the ground. Her mind filling with fear that she had already lost it, but she began to hear the baby's cries. Her heart stops once more at the sound. She had a chance to save the baby, to save the life of probably the last one that she'll ever see again.

B searched the ground but didn't see it as a wave of the dead bodies that were etching closer to her made their way across the cold ground. Her mind became filled with trepidation of what could happen to the baby, but she could still hear the cries of the child.

Marty was about a football field away when he noticed that B was no longer beside him fear filled the man as he turned around to see that the zombies were closing in on her as she just stood there look around at the concreted. He turned just as fast as she had and began running towards her, because you never leave a man behind. He ran as fast has he could, but he wasn't sure if he could reach her in time.

It was just a baby it couldn't have gone anywhere. She could still hear the cries so it didn't go anywhere! it was right there! Mad thoughts filled her mind how could something so pure be brought into this mad world? How could anyone let a baby be born knowing that won't survive.

"B COME ON!" Marty's voice carried only so far. B seemed to be able to not hear him she was focused on finding the lost baby.

Crying. Crying. Crying.

"Where is it?" B mumbled to herself as she began smelling the decaying bodies that should still be in the ground rather than walking among them.

"COME ON" Marty shout just as a dead man hand reaches out for B.
