It had seemed that time was now in slow motion for B, like everything was just a dream. The dead was back, and to survive you had to kill to even make it a day. When you run from them, it feels like you've been running your whole life, but in the end are you even ever really alive? The more you try to distance yourself from these "things," The more you started to be like them.

Marty saved B, But at what price? The price of a dead child? The price of a guilty conscience? Was B only alive because Marty wanted to save her? Or was it because of the rule? Was it because people need people in this Grey dark world? She began to feel so stupid for the dangerous situation she put Marty and herself into. She knew she was being selfish for risking his life as well as hers. She was going to get her self-killed trying to find the child that seemed to be just a ghost. A figment in her imagination.

Why? Why would I ever do that? B mind was churning at the thought of her freezing up she felt like a coward and an idiot for even going back. The woman was clearly insane Her baby could grow up to be just like her, a crazed psycho, but even though it was still a person no matter how small.

They run down there rode Marty's backpack was bouncing with every step he took, Shoes hitting hard pavement, B pony tail swaying in the chilly November air. Bad thoughts entered both of their heads. Marty, thinking about how that women was complete sane one minute and completely crazy the next. B, thinking how she nearly survived her own stupidity and how she just killed a woman that wasn't dead. None of this made sense.

They run at full speed back to the gates both of them sweating only ever look back to see if they were still being followed. Neither of them stopped for fear of them catching up. B's mind still spinning in thought, they just left a baby back there. A baby that she could have saved, As she ran glimpses of the dirty blue baby blanket ran through her mind. How, she turned for one last look as Marty was dragging her away just to see the dirty bony fingers of the dead cannibals ripping the blanket apart. Why wasn't she able to find it? Marty saved B's life, yet she couldn't make herself be thankful for it.

The minutes feel like hours as the head for the safety of the steel gates but they never stop. Why would they? In the distance the tall silver walls stood tall. The sun reflecting off of the shiny metal. Their feet reaching out, their lungs begging for them to stop, but there mind telling them to keep going. Pure survival mode fills them making sure that they will get back.

"theres the gates!" B shouts looking over to Marty was still keeping up. Since B met him, she wanted to know what he did for a living before the world was turned upside down. She was thankful, but also furious that he didn't let her save the baby. They run through the gates there heels digging int ground making them come to a halt once they reached the safety of the giant steel walls.

"Close the gates!" Marty yells as they cross through them knowing that just short while behind them you could see a few lamebrains making their way up the street. Running could only keep them at bay for so long. Not all of them followed do to them hearing louder noises, and roaming off but there was still enough to take over the house if the gates weren't up. Everyone seemed to go panic mode as Mike and Ethan headed over to meet us. faces turned white at the thought of them. Nobody had seen more then three or four since they moved into the old farm house.

"What's wrong?" Philip asks his confusion rising to what was wrong. This made Marty flip a switch as they didn't have time for questions. They didn't have time to do mess around and ask questions if even one of those things came through they could all be dead within minutes.

"Just do it! Unless you would like to become some Lamebrains, next meal" Marty's anger took over, and he grabbed Philip by the collar of his shirt pulling him to be face to face with him. Tension filled the air pulling away the survivors gazes of the on coming dead and focusing on the brawl that was about to happen.

"Close the gates up boy's" Mason shouted making Marty release Philip all at once the rope was released and the gate shut with a loud bang making B jump at the unsettling sound. Mason on the other hand, just went into the house he seems extremely unbothered by the ordeal the dead were only held back by the wall, but yet he didn't seem to care that his house might be over ruled by the rotten bodies.

"B are you okay what happened out there?" Ethan came running over after he helped closed the heavy steel gates that were at least two tons. His voice was filling with worry as he was completely concerned, but B knew she couldn't tell him. She felt like a monster for what she did.

"I gotta go do something Ethan, I'll talk to you later." B walks away back to the house, feeling bad that she couldn't bring her self to tell him what happen. Out of everything she's ever done, this was the one thing that seemed was going to break her. The clouds in the sky seemed to reflect the sadness B had inside her. They swelled up and soon rain was falling down towards that dry, unmown lawn. The house coming closer with every step the old white screen door held on by a couple of old screws, behind that the main door held more of a nicer look to it. The Bright door screamed for attention something that nobody in this group wanted

B entered the house her mind and body wanting to shut down at the long exhausting day that she just had. Walking through the small hallway that on the right led to the small kitchen and on the left led to a beautiful living area. The small table that sat in the kitchen had two chairs and a typewriter sitting on it. Ethan had a tendency to write about what was happening in the world since it ended. A paper that he wrote was sitting beside the type writer, B read this certain piece about a week ago. On the paper he gave out reason how this could have all started. One of B's favorites was definitely the third one down, Aliens. They both didn't know the reason to how this all started, but they knew that aliens where not behind this.

"No! What I'm saying is tha-that woman that tried to kill me...she wasn't like the other's that turned. She wasn't dead! Not. Dead. Do you understand what that means? Mason if this thing involves... Anyone one could be next. We could be next!" From the kitchen B attention caught from an argument in the Living room. She didn't usually eavesdrop on other conversations, but hearing about that crazed woman that attacked Marty was pretty much about her. In B's book if you were there, and know the story then how is eavesdropping?

"There's no way! There dead Marty, theirs simply noway that it involves! Even if it was it couldn't affect a healthy living person. "

"I know what I just saw! I know what was out there! B was there to she can tell you It's not pretty. Now listen to what I'm saying, the virus is now affected people who aren't dead...It's like it involves into a disease rather then a virus. The woman who was on the balcony had a fake baby. She set up the whole thing, and she screeched into the air and a whole mob of those things started coming at us. It was like a calling for them. Mason we need to do something about this." Marty's voice was filling with worry, and he was pacing the floor going back and forth. B had never seen his like this before.

"I'm going to say this once. The. Virus. Is. Dead. The only ones who still carry it are decomposing. In a few more months and a cleaning can go on. Then every damn one of those biters out there will be dead and this will be written in the history books do you understand me?"his reply was filled with hate and no compassion.

B didn't understand, but she so desperately wanted to butt in and demanded to know what was going on. What does he mean? How could this be just a virus and where did it come from? B looked back down at the paper Ethan made and re-read the possibilities of how this all started. He always shared his theory but now that it was all written down in front of her.

"Hey, they're getting a little wild out there what do you want us do?" a voice broke in through the house making everyone look over to the front door but B was hidden by the wall in the hallway so nobody saw her. She couldn't seem to comprehend what they were saying. How did they even know anything about them or the cause of how it happened? Was it because Mason was in the military or was it cause they did a study on it? She Didn't understand but she wanted to know so bad.

"round up everyone." Mason orders the voice at the door.

"did you see B pass through? She came in the house" the voice answered back, and she knew that it was Ethan who was at the door. Her face turns white at the thought of them knowing she was there.

"I'm in the kitchen, what is it? She sank down in a chair and pretended to be writing something down, so they wouldn't know that she was listening in on there conversation. Mason walk down to the kitchen hes footsteps heavy on the wood floor. She felt her heart start to pump faster and faster. How would she explain that she just accidentally heard them talking and then "accidentally" stayed to listen to the rest of what was going on?

"well come on we don't have all day! The lamebrains are trying to get in, and we need all the help we can get."Ethan had no idea what was going on and B knew she had to tell him. Marty comes into the kitchen only moments later looks her up and down. B gave the most innocent smile she could conceive and left it at that, but they both knew something was up.

The outside was a complete mess most of the "virus" filled dead were trying to knock down the gates down, but of course were not successful. B stood on the top of the wall beside Mike, Philip, and Ethan who was gawking at the wandering bodies below.

where did they come from? If they were just a virus, why hasn't it went away yet? What the hell is a "cleaning?" so many things shot through B's mind. Does anyone else know the same information that she did? Besides Marty and Mason of course.

"so do we-like shoot them?" Mike asked looking down to see what his father would say. His gaze just subtle enough that you knew that he was worried about what to do with them.

"No, we wait them out!" Mason's voice came out stern and powerful like he just started up a motor in his voice box. They, Mike and Philip used to make jokes about how he wasn't really a human but a robot sent to teach kids the "real military" life style.

Since, B meet the pair she always thought that they were the complete opposite of their grumpy father. They seem to love life and have a big sense of humor. Unlike their father who had a very bland look at life. He reminded her of Marty who also didn't have much use of his "laughing box." On the other hand the twins were alike in many more ways than just their looks, but B thinks that if you do look close enough Philips nose is just a tad bit bigger than Mikes, and that mike had as bigger front teeth then his brother.

"do you think they'll go away on there own?" B was so curious about how they always got around. From coming across the They had good hearing, but that's not everything. T o hunt you need all of you ability to be sharp and demanding. These sick corpses seemed to have no ability but to hear and eat.

"I don't know maybe they'll leave when they realize that was not a lunch-able." Ethan laughed at his own joke making himself almost fall off the wall. He seemed to be free spirit lately, so B didn't know how he would take the news when she told him what she overheard.
