Aunt Sev came around giving out the timetables, to the Slytherin table because we were first years we all had the same classes.

Harry read his timetable and found Transfiguration, potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts were shared with Gryffindor, charms was with Ravenclaw, History of magic with Hufflepuff, and Astronomy and flying lessons were with all houses. Harry could barely withhold his sneer, the teachers were not incompetent enough to not notice the house rivalry and usually tried to give the Slytherin's and Gryffindor's as few common lessons as possible to prevent the tension between the two sides from exploding on a regular basis. The twins had snuck up behind Draco and Fred whistled when they saw our classes, "Three classes with the Gryffindor's?" George observed.
"We only had one with them." Fred commented.
"Dumbledore must be off his rocker." They said together.

The four of us all sniggered at the though and listened to the other Slytherin's conspiracy theories, the most realistic was that Dumbledore was trying to give me plenty of chances to be close with the Gryffindor's and make friends so I'll get resorted. Frankly I'm surprised he hasn't already called me to his office to speak about how arguing with the hat isn't allowed and I'd be moved to Gryffindor immediately. Once breakfast was over we started to head towards our first lesson following the seventh year prefect who would be our guide, not that we actually required one though. Our first lesson was transfiguration, so we were faced with the grumblings of our fellow snakes on the way there, however as soon as we arrived the grumbling stopped and everyone acted like mature children to not taint their families' reputation. McGonagall was already in the classroom awaiting our arrival, how she got here before us I have no idea, but she always managed to do that, perhaps the teachers exit has a short cut to the classrooms.

"Please sit one person a desk, we will be working with partners for today's lesson. Everyone's partner will be from another house." The Slytherin's completely ignored her order and sat bunched up at the back of the classroom. I was seated between Draco and Blaze Zabini, the dark skinned Italian which was neutral in the war, before siding with Hogwarts in the final battle. Draco moved slightly closer to me I could feel his emotions were caution and jealously which really didn't make much sense. My hand was in Draco's and it was both a comforting presence and a grounding point for my magic sensitivity and empathy. "Children, you will be working with the Gryffindor's and I'll dock fifty points for everyone who does not comply." The children grudgingly moved around the classroom shooting their best death glares at McGonagall. Draco moved down one seat so we'd still be close, but his presence suddenly moving caused a wave of nausea to overcome me due to my empathy, I suddenly felt extremely annoyed and irritated and clutched the pendent I wore around my neck to help ground me with the magic Draco had stored in it. If this trend continues in our other classes then Draco's going to have to recharge it much more that we had initially presumed, well at least we know it won't happen in Potions.

The Gryffindor's arrived a few minutes later apologizing for being late, I was wedged in-between Weasley and Granger. "Hey mate, I'm sorry for what I said on the train the Malfoy's and Weasley's have a long history of hatred between them and his father worked for You-Know-Who." He said as if revealing a big secret." I outright ignored him and turned to Granger and said hello.

"Hello, I've read all about you in books, how did you defeat You-Know-Who? Do your really have a scar?" Before Hermione could continue with the intrusive questions I raised my hands to speak.
"One; those authors weren't there, two; they never asked me, three; I do not remember, four; yes, but that's none of your business and five; you are being extremely rude and intrusive for a perfect stranger."

Draco sniggered at Granger's sputtering which was interrupted by McGonagall clearing her throat to draw the classes attention. "Welcome to Transfiguration, this year the headmaster has ordered that in classes students must sit beside a student of another house, personally I believe this will prove to be a foolish idea, but we will give it a try and if it fails, then I'll allow you to sit wherever you wish." Her words piqued my curiosity, was McGonagall one of Dumbledore's in the previous life time?
