"(Y/N)."

'Huh?'

"(Y/N)."

'Wha-'

"(Y/N) wake up!"

You slowly opened your eyes and groggily sat up only to realize you were still on Kage's back. The Shongasho was staring at you as you leaned up into a sitting position.

"Yeah?" You asked, still half asleep and trying to wake up. Kage's deep voice wasn't helping either. "We're almost to the next town. Mongolia, I think it was." You nodded your head and grabbed onto some of Kage's neck fur for balance since you were still half asleep.

"Did you have a dream?" Kage's voice snapped you out of it. You shook your head. "No, only darkness. You know, the usual. Me sitting in the middle with nothing but darkness all around. Nothin much." Sarcasm laces your voice as you said the last sentence.

Kage sighed. "Did you talk to the voice?" "No. Not this time. In all honesty, I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing." "Yeah..." "Anyways, look up ahead. We're here."

Kage stopped and looked up to see the town in front of him. "Mongolia." He muttered. You got down off him and faced him. "You know the drill." Without a word, Kage entered your shadow, disappearing from sight. You turned to the town before taking a deep breath and entering.

As you entered the town, so many scents filled the air that it was hard to pin-point things. As you were walking, your cloak fluttered softly behind you, allowing Kage more room in your shadow.

There were so many foods smells in the air and it was quite mouthwatering. You were very excited to try all the different foods that they had to offer. Through all the countries you've been to, you've tried so many new things. It seemed that each town had something new and you couldn't wait to try it all.

That's what you loved about this world. It was so creative with their resources and it was so good! You didn't like how they treated all the monsters and beasts, however. I mean yeah, you know that they can be dangerous, and some may attack, but it's the ones that aren't hurting anything. They treat them like they should all be wiped out.

You sighed at the thought before continuing on walking. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw an old lady selling fresh fruit salads and decided that would be a good snack. You walked over and looked at all the options before deciding that you wanted the (f/f) one. You went to grab your money to pay for it only to freeze. You slowly looked at the lady behind the stand, bowed, and walked off.

You walked into an alley-way before Kage poked his head out and looked at you. "(y/n) what's wrong? Why didn't you get that salad?" You were silent for a minute with an emotionless face before calmly speaking. "We don't have any money."

Kage stared at you for a minute. "What." "I DON'T KNOW!! I thought that we still had some from the last town, but we don't!" Kage sighed. "You know, never mind. What are we going to do now?" "I don't know but I think we should keep going. People might start to think something's going on if we stay here any longer." "Yeah." Kage sunk back into the shadow as you stood there for a minute. You stared at the ground where your companion disappeared before turning and walking towards the entrance of the alley. You looked around before you exited the alley, heading down the crowded street.

After about five minutes of walking, you stopped and sniffed the air. "What's wrong?" Kage spoke from the shadows. "Dragon? No. Maybe a dragon slayer seems more like it. It's hard to tell where it's coming from in this crowd though. It's getting mixed in with all the other scents." Kage poked the end of his muzzle out and sniffed the air before retreating back into the shadows. "Yeah, there's definitely something there." "But from where?"
