Chapter 4-First Job

*3rd POV*

The next morning, you got up before Lucy. You hadn't been to sleep that night because of insomnia. God you hated insomnia. It was nothing but a bitch to you.

You got up and made one of the few things you knew how to make, waffles. Homemade waffle too. By the time you made enough for you, Lucy and Kage, Lucy came downstairs. "Mornin' sunshine." You spoke to her with a smirk. She only grumbled in response as you served her, her waffles. "Hope you don't mind that I used your kitchen. I thought you would like breakfast when you woke up." She shook her head. "No, it's fine. Thank you."

She dug in and immediately she was awake. "These are so good! They're not like any other waffle I've had!" You chuckled. "Thanks. It was my mother's recipe..." You trailed off at the end. Lucy stopped eating and looked at you. You had a sad smile plastered on your face as you stared down at your food in front of you. She decided it was best not to ask anything and changed the subject.

"So, I think we should get dressed and head to the guild after this. We can pick a job then. Sound good?" You snapped out of your trance and looked at Lucy, starting to eat. You put on a small, fake, smile. "Sure, sounds good." You ate your breakfast in silence before you went and got changed into one of the outfits you bought yesterday.

 Once you were dressed, you put your shoes on. After you were done with your shoes, you waited for about 5 minutes before Lucy finally came downstairs and got her shoes on. Now you could finally leave.

Once again, you got on Kage and he got you there fast. You entered the guild and immediately you and Kage stepped to the side as Natsu tried tackling you, tackling Lucy instead. "Nice try Natsu, but you're to slow." You ended up walking to the request board was since Erza, Wendy and Grey were already there. "Good morning." Erza greeted you. "Mornin." "So what job looks good?" She asked you. You scanned the board until you spotted one that interested you.

"This one." Everyone looked at the paper. "You sure? The reward isn't much." Lucy asked. You nodded. "I'm 100% sure." Your voice was serious. Erza smiled. "Ok then, this one it is. Mira we're taking this job." The white-haired mage smiled and gave the ok before everyone went home to pack. It was to be about a day's stay. You would solve the problem, stay the night, and return home next morning. Simple. You and Lucy headed home and packed. You only packed a water bottle and one other pair of clothes.
