Chapter 21

You sat in the same place for a while and continued to wait for Peter to return, but he was still on the ship. You hadn't heard anything for a while, so you weren't sure what was going on. You stood up and dared to walk into the water and swim over to the ship to see what was going on, but right as you stepped near the water, the ship began to move towards you. It slowly approached the spot of land that you stood on, and you could only think that Smee had managed to win and Peter was dead. 

As the ship stopped, your anxiety grew, wishing someone would just jump off of the ship and reveal who was still alive. You were sure that you would be heartbroken no matter who it was, though you had a hope in the back of your mind that Peter was okay. When no one came off of the ship, you cautiously walked towards it, calling out. "Peter? Are you okay?"

There was silence for a moment longer before you could see the white fluffy hair of Smee poke out from the side of the ship. "Smee? Ah, I-Is Peter okay?..." You tried to sound calm, but you could feel your heart beat quickly. You thought you might pass out if Peter didn't show himself soon. 

Smee didn't respond. In fact, he didn't move at all. After looking at him closely, you noticed him slip over the side of the ship and fall onto the ground near you, blood splattering around you and splashing onto your legs. 

You stared at Smee's dead body, too scared to react. You couldn't move or scream. You just stood there, petrified as you stared at the broken, lifeless body surrounded in a puddle of blood in front of you.

Before you could gain any sort of composure, the ginger jumped down from the ship and landed in the puddle of blood, looking down at you with a big grin on his face. "Look! I won!" You didn't even look up at him, still unable to move. You let yourself fall to the ground as your legs gradually felt more and more weak. Peter looked at you strangely and walked over to you. "Are you okay?"

You took a deep breath and looked up at Peter. "Why...why would you do that?? I-I know that you needed to protect yourself... But we could have just left! A-And, why would you throw his body down here like that??"

Peter didn't respond for a while, and you kept quiet, waiting for an answer. "Y/N. I wasn't protecting myself. I was protecting you. And we could have left, but Smee surely would have searched for us until he found us again. I was just looking out for you. And... I just wanted to show you that I won.. You were worried about me, right?"

You shook your head. "That doesn't matter! Of course I was worried! But I don't need you to show me a dead body for me to know that your okay you asshole!"

Peter was taken aback by your outburst. He couldn't say he was too surprised by your reaction, but he wasn't exactly expecting you to call him names as well and have such an angry tone. He decided he would deal with it later and instead, reached down to pick you up. "Look, it's fine. Besides. We need to go back home. I still need to get my reward for taking you here~" 

You huffed and pushed him away. "Are you stupid? You just killed someone, again! Why do you think that you can just do things like that and it'll be fine?" Peter clearly didn't have an excuse as he stood silently. You rolled your eyes and turned on your heel, walking away from him. "Ah, Y/N! Where are you going?!" 

"Away from you!" You ran off into the woods and Peter flew off the ground after you . The further you went into the woods, the harder it got for Peter to follow. He growled and called out to you. "Fine! But don't come crying out to me when your lost and hungry and hiding from predators!"

He stopped flying and watched you until he couldn't see you anymore. He smirked to himself and spoke quietly to no one specifically. "And you better hope that I don't get my hands on you before the predators do~"

(I have stuff going on that is going to delay me making more of this story. I don't know how long I won't be able to update, so I'm going to post a few chapters today as soon as I can. Hopefully I can get back to making this story soon. ~<3)
