I studied the words more than I intended to and the whole time he didn't utter a word behind me. Although, I can feel him waiting for me.

I turned to him and tried for a light smile.

"I have to go somewhere." I said.

I saw a flicker of irritation in his eyes but he quickly hides it with a playful one.

"Going to meet your fiancé?" He raised one brow.

I nodded.

I heard him sigh, "Let's go, I'll drive you."

"No, I can manage."

It's awkward enough for him to be here with me at work and accompanying me to meet Michael? I don't think that's a good idea.

"What part of me 'tagging along' did you not understand? Come on, we shouldn't make lover boy wait." He teased with a taste of disdain in his tone.

I didn't argue anymore and went to Macy. I told her that I needed to be somewhere, before she can press me with any question, I turned my back and ghosted my way outside the studio.

He was about to open the door when his phone rang. As soon as he read the name of the caller, his brows creased. It's the same one that he wore earlier on our way here.

Could it be Millet?

"Aren't you going to get that?" I asked when he didn't notice me standing on the other side of the car across him.

He looked surprised when he realized I was there and quickly hid his phone on his pocket.

"It's nothing." He smiled and got inside the car.

I didn't want it to bother me but it irks me that he's hiding something. However, I don't have the right to ask about it nor demand for answers.

Although it shouldn't be a surprise, it's still frustrating to know that there's something about him that I don't know.

I propped myself inside the car next to him. By now, he's on full smile again, masking the confusion earlier.

Michael requested to meet at Indiana Cafe a good ten miles from the studio.

After long road of driving, we arrived.

"I'll wait here." He said when I opened the door.

I turned to him who by now is glaring at the cafe's door.

"You sure?" I teased.

He turned to me, stone cold, "No."

In seconds, he got out of his car. I laughed at him, not expecting he'd take my question seriously.

He entered the cafe first, scanning the crowd inside. It's not the cozy kind of cafe, it's more like a diner from the flocked customers coming in and out of it.

Michael was easy to spot since his blonde hair pops out from the crowd, he's also tall compared to the people inside.

We sat on the chairs opposite his.

Michael was doing something on his phone when he noticed us. His brow raised questioningly at Lucas.

Right, it's not good Lucas' here.

"Can you give us a minute?" I asked to his ear since the buzz is loud to drown my voice.

Lucas looked at me and considered what I said before standing up, dipping his hands inside his pockets.

"I'll get us something to eat and drink." He said deadpan and walked away to line on the growing queue across the counter.

When were alone, Michael sighed.
