"I guess that's it." I said, dragging myself tiredly to the front of the shop as I sighed, turning the sign on the door from 'Open' to 'Closed." Finally.

Michael had stayed for around 30 minutes, chatting to Luke and making fun of him a little with me, but after he finally left, Luke kind of just went silent and ignored me.

Michael's really, really nice. He was great when it came to banter, but he knew not to cross a line.

I was so surprised at first that they were friends, as Michael's so nice and Luke is just... a douche-bag.

I didn't really know what his issue was but I really didn't care. He's the rude one who shuts everyone out so he can deal with it alone.

"Molly?" I said, turning around and running straight past Luke, into the kitchen to let her know that we were going to go home.

"Is it 5.30 already?" She asked, slipping out of her daydream, brushing some flour off her top and wiping her fingers together.

She always said this. Every day, after I had worked, she would be surprised when it was 5:30, as she was in a constant day dream. It was beautiful, as she seemed to not have a care in the world, but she never really paid attention. One day, I'm scared she may put poison in the cakes without realising it, and end up killing half our customers.

The kitchen smelled heavenly, she had been baking a batch of Victoria sponge cake which we'd run out of today. Victoria sponge was always one of the favourites, Molly makes it so good.

"Yep. I'm going to get going, if that's okay." I said politely, trying not to get too hungry. I hadn't eaten today and was planning on cooking myself something healthier than a tonne of cakes when I got home.

"Of course. How was Luke?" She said as I immediately frowned, nervously looking downwards and beginning to fiddle with my fingers, as usual.

"He was a nightmare." I stated truthfully, "I would be fine working with him if he just stopped trying to annoy me every second. I don't know how I'm going to actually continue working with him Molly."

I didn't want to seem like I was complaining, because I knew Molly needed to hire someone. She's never been anything but kind and lovely towards me, and I respect her decision.

Also, it's not very often that someone actually signs up for a low paid job in a small café. Luke was a 'lucky' find, if you put it that way.

Put it any other way, however, and you'd see how unfortunate this situation is.

"I'm sorry love, you know I'd do something if I could, but we need him." She apologised, as I shook my head.

"I know you would. It's okay I'll deal with it. Bye Molly." I sighed, exasperated by the difficult situation.

I waved slightly at her as I left the kitchen.

Luke was still there, sitting near the counter looking angrily at me.

"Well I'm sorry that I'm such a pain to work with." He stated, walking towards the front door of the café.

He'd been eavesdropping again. Cheeky bugger.

"Don't you dare start with me Luke. You've purposely been a pain in the ass today and you know it." I argued, walking towards him.

He didn't even look up at me, no manners at all.

"Not my fault you're an insulting bitch." He said, turning around and walking patronisingly towards me as I took a step closer, playing him at his own game.
