Tuberculosis really is a bitch.
Tuberculosis is a disease that mainly attacks the lungs. It has already struck a third of the world's population, going unnoticed by many. That happens because of its late, hard-to-spot signs and symptoms that are common in other diseases, including a repetitive cough, weight loss and loss of appetite, chest pain, night sweat and exhaustion.
It could be latent, in which the patient is not "sick" yet. They cannot infect anyone because the harmful bacteria are "sleeping", but they can still wake up at any second if not treated immediately.
When they do become active though, the disease severs and it becomes harder to put the bacteria to rest.
The disease could become active weeks after infection.
It could be months later,
Or years later.
It can easily go unnoticed for that long, and the patient only receives treatment when it's too late.Tuberculosis really is a bitch.
