Their week in Jeju went by in a flash, and they spent its entirety exploring the small island and its beauty. Namjoon took Jin to every museum he knew and liked, every café he sat at and every park he walked in. He appreciated the fact that he redid all of that but with someone else, and it was someone who was experiencing it all for the first time.
They sat at the gate room, waiting for their flight to Tokyo when Jin's stomach growled. Namjoon smiled and, as if prepared for that particular moment, he pulled a snack bag out of his backpack's side pocket with an "I told you so.."
Jin waved a hand at Namjoon's offering "I'll just eat on the plane." Namjoon sighed and opened the bag, retrieving a treat and holding it in front of Jin's lips.
"Ahhh." He opened his mouth like he would to demonstrate eating to a toddler. Jin immediately played along by shaking his head vigorously and scrunching his face up in fake disgust. When he opened his eyes thinking he was victorious, Namjoon forced the food through his lips and watched him eat it, shocked. He continued this routine until Jin gave up and finished the whole thing just as the gate opened. They checked in and boarded the plane, lining their legs so they could pull through two hours of sitting. On their way, Jin learned that they would be staying a longer time than they did in Jeju and this time it would be at a friend's house, not a hotel. Jin immediately panicked because he'd never stayed in someone else's house unless he was taking care of them.
Namjoon took this in and explained that his friend was rarely home since he was a pilot for one of the busiest airlines. He also worked shifts as an instructor-examiner to ensure other pilots were qualified and skilled enough. Namjoon stayed in his house so often he now had a key to it, helping himself in whenever he was in town. It served to calm Jin down temporarily and that put Namjoon at ease.
They made it to a respectable two-story residence. The lights were all off but that didn't fool Namjoon one bit- he knew the house was occupied. "Seems like no one's home." It flew over Jin's head, as expected, and Namjoon smiled as he unlocked the door. Jin let himself in when the other pushed the door open and he spun around to quickly scan the place. "This is really nice."
"Thank you." Jin stopped abruptly and turned around, his eyes landing on a small man with bleached blond hair. Jin's eyes widened and he instinctively bowed "Sorry, I didn't.." he glanced up as the man who'd interrupted him with a soft laugh and saw that Namjoon was making his way towards him. They hugged silently and strongly, letting go a few seconds later with Namjoon's arm hanging across the shorter man's shoulders.
"Jinnie, this is Min Yoongi. He's been my friend for as long as I can remember." He looked longingly at Yoongi who gave back a small, gummy smily. Namjoon ushered with his hand towards Jin and smiled wider "And this right there is Kim Seokjin. He's the reason I'm not sulking around after.. you know. Actually, do you?" It took Namjoon a minute to recollect that he hadn't spoken to Yoongi since that tragic incident and was sad to see that Yoongi nodded in conformation.
"I live in the same city as your dad, you moron. You stopped calling and I got worried so I went to see him and he told me everything. I figured you needed some time alone. Besides, my job wouldn't give me a break long enough to visit anyway. I'm really happy you came." He patted the center of Namjoon's chest and then smiled at Jin who was sniffing around a delicious scent.
"Well, you caught me making Bulgogi.." he clarified and Namjoon's eyebrow rose in surprise at the fact that Yoongi was cooking, let alone traditional Korean food.
"I'm feeling homesick, alright?" His smile lit back up and he pushed Namjoon towards Jin. "You two shower and get comfy while I finish making dinner.""Alright, mom." Namjoon picked his bag up with a grin and walked towards the stairs, Jin hot on his tail.
"Yoongi?"
Yoongi's steps slowed but he didn't stop making his way to the kitchen. He hummed and looked effortlessly to the side.
"How's my room?"
"Exactly how you left it." The blondie raised his arms up to signify he didn't touch anything and all Namjoon could say to that was "Crap.."
